The bungalow has a very nice private garden with mature trees and a shaded pagoda area. There is a table and seating area, which is ideal for eating outside. Sunloungers and deck chairs are provided, which can be taken to the pool if required. There is a newly built 9 hole golf course in La Pared, which is approx. 3 miles from Costa Calma. Costa Calma is the venue for the World Windsurfing Championships and the famous Sotavento beach is only a 20 minute walk from the bungalow. Courses in windsurfing and kiteboarding are available all year round. There is a very good surfing beach in La Pared, which is 3 miles from Costa Calma. Tuition is available, which includes equipment hire. There is a very safe child-friendly beach approx 10 mins from the bungalow. There is a nice beach bar selling reasonably priced drinks and meals and also a children's play area. If you are feeling lively and fit, it is possible to walk to Jandia along the beach. This will take about 4 hours and there is a regular bus service back to Costa Calma. Be advised, this stretch of beach is popular with naturists and you may see some interesting sights! Fuerteventura Airport is approx. 1 hour drive from Costa Calma. Taxi costs around 60 Euros, so car hire is probably the cheapest option. We always hire from Cicar and have found them to be friendly and efficient. A week's hire costs approximately £85 if booked online. The resort of Jandia is a 20 minute drive or 45 minutes on the bus. Here there are lively bars, restaurants and clubs. Buses run regularly to and from Jandia until 11pm. Oasis Park is a 10 minute drive from Costa Calma. This is a very nice small Zoo that is ideal for a day's visit. They also have camel safaris that take a route over the nearby mountains. Costa Calma has all you need for a peaceful and relaxing holiday. There are an abundance of good restaurants, catering for most tastes. However, you will not find any traditional English bars or restaurants. We see this as an advantage, as you also do not see groups of drunken Brits looking for Roast Beef or a " Full English Breakfast ". Costa Calma caters mainly for Spanish and German tourists and therefore a high standard is expected. There are several "all inclusive" 4 and 5 star hotels in Costa Calma. All have excellent facilities and evening entertainment and welcome non residents. Costa Calma is spread over quite a wide area, but there are shops banks, restaurants and bars within easy walking distance of the bungalow.
