Vacation Rental Description
Santa Ponsa is one of the better resorts in Mallorca, with a marina, country club, three top golf courses, excellent restaurants, many lively bars and clubs and a wide, pine-fringed sandy beach. Less than 15 minutes drive from the historic capital, Palma and 20 - 25 mins from the airport, it’s ideally placed to explore this beautiful island.
In an elevated spot adjoining a national park, close to the local town beach and offering panoramic views over the bay and hills, this established development is considered to be one of the finest in Santa Ponsa. Built in pueblo (village) style, it consists of two-storey houses and apartments surrounded by attractive, well-maintained gardens. It is a relaxing, secure, family-friendly and laid-back oasis in one of the quieter residential areas of the town with many of the houses and apartments permanently owner-occupied.
There are two swimming pools, the larger of which includes a child-friendly shallow section and is always very popular with families.
A less busy pool in the upper part of the development tends to be used mostly by adults and is consequently a peaceful spot to read a book, swim or simply relax and soak up the Mallorcan sunshine.
Overlooking the upper swimming pool this three double bedroom, three bathroom house was recently refurbished and refurnished to a high standard. It enjoys a shady lani and sunny, private patio with table, chairs and loungers, leading to the small, south-facing garden which has views across the national park. The house remains cool in the summer and there are additional ceilng cooling fans in each of the the bedrooms.
Our spacious living room has a large library of books, television with UK satellite channels and a good variety of DVD films; an arch leads through to the separate dining area which seats six comfortably.
Off the newly-equipped kitchen is a separate utility room with a washing machine, full-sized dishwasher and a separate pantry.
The master bedroom is furnished with two twin single beds linked together to form a substantial six-foot double and includes an en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom contains twin beds whilst bedroom three has a standard double. These bedrooms are served by two further bathrooms. All the bedrooms have large built-in wardrobes, effective ceiling fans and electric panel heaters for use in the winter months. A sunny balcony leading off bedrooms one and two offers great views of surrounding hills and trees in the national park and the historical site on which once stood the King Jamie of Aragon’s tower-style castle.
From the house it’s about a ten-minute stroll down the hill to either the small and peaceful local town beach or the larger, busier main beach, shops, restaurants, clubs and bus to Palma. Public transport is fair and taxis abound but a car is recommended because there are some fabulous places to visit off the beaten track and around this wonderful island. Car hire is reasonably priced and to a good standard. The well-signed roads are excellent whilst secure on-street parking is always available just outside the main entrance.
Please note that because of their unique layout, the gardens include several small flights of steps but no disabled ramps. Coupled with the walk up the hill from the beach, this is really not suitable for people of impaired mobility.
