Es Refugie is a unique, rustic finca located 2kms outside the picturesque town of Alaro. Set in two acres of stunning mature gardens, part of which is a thousand-year-old olive grove, it has stunning views of the Tramuntana mountains and is located right in the heart of the best Mallorcan walking, cycling and wine region. 
 
The house has the original cobbled floor, thick stone walls and huge fireplace of the original finca, but has been extended to include comfortable living accommodation with a fully fitted kitchen. 
 
On the ground floor there is a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom, a kids bedroom with bunk-beds and a large single bed, as well as a study room which has a double sofa bed. Upstairs are two further double bedrooms, one with twin beds, both rooms opening onto a spacious balcony. The house can comfortably sleep up to ten and is ideal for two families with children. 
 
Outside, the property has several eating and seating areas with a barbeque area near the kitchen. It also has a separate fenced and gated pool area, with a raised seating area for watching the sunset over the mountains. The pool is 6m x 3m x 1.5m with pool steps and is ideal for cooling off in the summer. 
 
There are plenty of toys, a cot, a travel cot, buggy and car seats at the property for young children, as well as an all-weather table-tennis table and Nintendo Wii for older kids. There is plenty of kitchen equipment and cookery books, as well as a washing machine, tumble dryer and microwave. 
 
Owned as a holiday home-from-home by two writers with a young family, it is stocked with lots of books and DVD’s and has bags of charm and quirky characteristics.
