6 Bedroom Villa in Órgiva

Casa de las Flores Flores is a beautiful holiday rental located in the Sortes district of Órgiva in the heart of La Alpujarra in Andalusia, southern Spain.  
It is a terraced villa built in the traditional Alpujarran style, consisting of 5 separate air-conditioned and centrally heated apartments and two swimming pools. The views are stunning; to the south over the town of Órgiva and the Sierra de Lújar down to the Mediterranean; to the north and east towards La Alpujarra and the Sierra Nevada mountains. As holiday accommodation, you will find Casa de las Flores hard to match in this area.  
The villa is situated just off the main scenic road between Órgiva and the famous white villages of the Sierra Nevada National Park. It is an ideal base for cycling, mountain biking, walking, hiking, riding and bird watching.  
It is about 5 minutes’ drive from the main town of Órgiva, where there are plenty of restaurants, tapas bars, cafés, supermarkets, shops, banks, and a 24 hour emergency centre. 
There are 5 apartments, ranging in size from 1 to 3 bedrooms and capable of accommodating up to 8 people.  
No 1. Jasmin - 2 bedrooms, plus double sofabed; sleeps up to 6. Private swimming pool. 89 sqm. 
No 2. Buganvilla - 1 double bedroom, plus double sofabed; sleeps up to 4. 72 sqm. 
No 3. Geranio - The property managers, Michael & Vicky Weller, currently live here. 
No 4. Rosa - 3 bedrooms, 2 double beds, 4 single beds; sleeps up to 8. 104 sqm. 
No 5. Camelia - 2 bedrooms, plus double sofabed; sleeps up to 6. 75 sqm. 
Each apartment is self-contained with its own entrance, a kitchen/dining/living area, bedrooms, bathroom and private terrace for outdoor living. All apartments are air-conditioned, which you will find is a real benefit during the hot summer. The large pool is a great place to relax during the hot summer days. There is a central laundry with automatic washing machine and tumble dryer. 
Secure bicycle lock-up is available.  
There are a lot of things you can do in the area. Orgiva is only a few minutes' drive away and has a good selection of restaurants, cafés and shops. The nearest beach is only 35-40 minutes' drive through beautiful scenery and in winter you can access the ski slopes above Granada. And in Granada, the Alhambra Palace is a "must see". Further up the mountains behind the house, there are several famous "pueblos blancos" (white villages), including Bubion and Capileira. There are numerous places to walk, cycle or ride horses and there are golf courses in both Granada and Motril. For the more adventurous, there are numberous rock climbing sites within a short drive from the house.

Each apartment is fully equipped with everything mosts guests will need for their vacation (except beach towels). There is a central laundry and secure lock-up facilities and wash-down for bicycles.

There is plenty do during your stay and Órgiva is an excellent base from which to explore the region. You will also get a glimpse of what Spain was like before large scale tourism started.  
Some suggested activities include: 
Driving. Car rental is recommended. The local scenery is spectacular and you can visit the white villages of the Sierra Nevada mountains.  
Walking and horse riding can be arranged locally. There are many well-signposted routes.  
Cycling and mountain biking are hugely popular, partly due to the 325 days of sunshine and stunning scenery. Las Alpujarras are Spain's southernmost mountains and include the longest downhill in Europe (3,400 metres).  
The closest beaches are in Salobreña about 35 mins drive away.  
There are golf courses at Granada (1 hr) and Motríl (35 mins).  
There is abundant wildlife in the region.  
However, you may just prefer to relax by the pool and enjoy the sunshine and stunning views.

• Travel Info: Casa de las Flores is quite easy to find and is located in a prominent position above Órgiva. If coming from Granada, turn left just after the first BP garage onto the A4132 towards Bubión, Capileira, Carataunus and Trevélez. If coming from the south (Málaga, Salobreña, Motril, Almería), drive through Órgiva on the A348 towards Lanjarón and just after the bridge turn right on the A4132. The road will wind up the hill and after 2.8km you will pass a turning to the left to Cañar. Remain on the main road for another 400 meters and you will see a large cave in the hillside on the left. Turn into the wide driveway on the right opposite the cave. Take the track and you will find Casa de las Flores at the end on the right after about 250 metres. Park in the spaces indicated for your apartment (Jasmin, Buganvilla and Geranio at the top of the drive and Rosa and Camelia at the bottom of the drive).
