Nestling among the olive groves of Tijola, in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, the villa Castaño, is a quiet and peaceful retreat.
Less than 2 miles from the market town of Orgiva, and within a short drive of the white washed Berber villages which cling to the southern slopes of Spain’s highest mountain range. These were the last outposts of the Moors after the fall of Granada in the 16th century.
Made famous in the early 1900's by Gerald Brennan with his book "South from Granada" and more recently described by Chris Stewart in his best selling book "Driving Over Lemons" and his sequel “Parrot in a Pepper Tree”, this rural area offers peace and tranquillity with easy access to bars, restaurants and supermarkets.
EL CASTAÑO This villa and apartment complex has five double bedrooms: three with double beds, the other two with twin beds. All with ceiling fans, air-conditioning, central heating, large fitted wardrobes and luxury bed linen.
Bathrooms: beautifully tiled with luxury fitted showers and radiators.
Kitchens: Both are fully fitted, modern and very well equipped, with large fridge/freezers, split level electric ovens with grills, gas and electric hobs, washing machine, dishwashers and microwaves. The villa kitchen window overlooks the Moorish courtyard and the aparment window over the mountains.
Living Rooms: Comfortably furnished. Ceiling fans, Satellite TVs, video/DVD recorders, (the owners have a library of videos and DVDs available), the villa has a wood burning stove and both have radiators.

Outside Area: There are various outside dining and relaxing areas to choose from, including a Moroccan arched veranda and an open aspect room, sun loungers and BBQ facilities. PRIVATE POOL Boules/Petanque, badminton rackets and net and table tennis avaialable to use in the garden.
The 10 metre x 5 metre private pool reflects the style of the villa and is set among the orange, lemon, olive, palm and jacaranda trees. Relaxing by the pool amongst the olive groves with the superb mountain vistas, you will occasionally hear the sound of goats bells in the distance and see horses trotting past.
Just one hour south of Granada and two hours east of Malaga, with the coast and golf only 35 minutes away and skiing in the winter, just 1 hour 15 minutes, the villa has been designed with the 16th century Alhambra Palace in mind, but with all the luxuries and comforts of the 21st century.
