Cortijo la solana is an old stone built farmhouse which has been tastefully converted by the owners into self catering holiday accommodation in one of the most beautiful areas of Southern Spain.Consisting of the main Cortijo with 3 double bedrooms each with en suite bathroom , incorporating bath and shower facilities ( one containing a Jacuzzi bath ) Large living / dining area with open log fire place. Kitchen with all the usual faclities including washing machine.It can sleep up to 7 persons.
The Casita which can be rented seperately or together with the Cortijo consists of 1 double bedroom with en suite bathroom incorporating walk in shower. Split level living area with double Futon for extra sleeping and large kichen / dining area with all the usual facilities including washing machine. It will sleep up to 4 persons. Both houses have satellite TV and DVD / VHS players . There are large private , patio areas with lots of outdoor seating and private swimming pool ( 7x 4 m ). For the winter months the Cortijo has central heating radiators and the Casita is heated with portable gas fires.
The owners David and Diana Worthy who for 30 years ran the Crich Pottery in Derbyshire , England invite you to come and stay in their new home. This spectacular old farmhouse has been lovingly restored and converted into very special accommodation, while remaining true to local rustic tradition with extensive use of tile , beam and woodwork throughout , giving a truly Andaluz feel. However much of the furniture and trimmings come from much further afield , reflecting the owners' tastes in Indian and African craftmanship , with many items collected on their extensive travels around the world.

Come and stay with us on our small farm , where we have created what we feel to be a perfect rural retreat. With stunning views to the Mediterranean coast and the surrounding sierras, this is the ideal location for anyone wishing to experience the real Spain. Enjoy the many wonderful animals we have here - Alpacas , Donkeys , Peafowl, Turkeys , Hens , Cats and Dogs or just laze around the pool and watch the goats from the neighbouring farms go by !!

You might not want to venture out , but if you do there are numerous opportunities in the area for all kinds of outdoor activities , such as cycling ( mountain bike & road ) walking , rock climbing , horse riding and bird watching. The ancient town of Antequera is only 20 minutes drive away , plus you are ideally situated to make day trips to the historical cities of Granada ( approx. 1.5 hrs drive ), Cordoba ( approx. 2 hrs drive ), Seville ( approx. 2 hrs drive ) Plenty to do and see , with the city of Malaga and the attractions of the Costa del Sol only a short drive away ( 40 minutes ) should you wish for it.

Villanueva de la concepcion is situated in Malaga province in the heart of Andalucia , Southern Spain on the edge of the natural park known as El Torcal. The Sierra del Torcal is an immense mass of limestone which rises to an altitude of 1336m above sea level , having been sculpted by wind and rain over millions of years to form weird and unusual rock formations. Defined by this harsh but stunningly beautiful landscape of mountains and rock , this is rural Spain at it's best.
The surrounding countryside is a mixture of arable land, olive and almond trees, holm and cork oak.Interspersed amongst the hills are numerous goat tracks and the sound of goat bells along with their herders is never far away.
