We stayed in El Gastor for 4 nights, as part of a longer trip to Andalucia. From the moment we arrived Jackie & John were the perfect hosts, welcoming us to their lovely home & El Gastor. Our room was great, with access to the living room, dining room, fridge & wonderful roof terrace with views over the village to enjoy a beer while the sun goes down. John's breakfasts were a great start to the day and Jackie & John were able to offer plenty of help for where to visit.
The village itself was great too- (very easy to find with parking right outside) with plenty of little bars to sit & watch village life happen with a cerveza & a plate of tapa (and good conversation with Jackie & John when we bumped into them). El Gastor is in a great location- about 1.5 - 2 hours drive from Malaga airport and in easy reach of Ronda (about 25 mins drive), Seville (1.5 hours drive), Grazelema & Zahara (20 mins drive) and Cordoba (2 hours drive).
We really cannot recommend El Gastor highly enough and hope to be back one day to explore more of a wonderful part of Spain.

We stayed 3 nights at El Gastor and it was a fantastic base to see the Ronda area.
We had a double room, ensuite, which was comfortable and clean, and whilst not huge in size, the rest of the accomodation gives you the extra space. The roof terrace was perfect for an early evening drink (it was still really warm at 7pm) with fantastic views over El Gastor and the surrounding area. Breakfasts were lovely - John does a great spread of fresh fruit, yoghurts, cereals, bread, meats and cheeses.
John and Jackie were great hosts and provide you with a map of the village and great options for food and drink in the village. It's not a touristy village but there are some really nice local bars and restaurants. The B&B has free car parking you can visit some great villages / Ronda from here.

I stayed with Jackie & John for four days in May and thoroughly enjoyed myself. The village of El Gastor is pristine and peaceful, and proves a great base for exploring the Andalusia region and the Pueblos Blancos. The house itself is very comfortable and charming and has all the amenities anyone could ask for. John & Jackie are consummate hosts, full of helpful tips and advice. I would highly recommend that anyone interested in the area, plan a stay here; you won’t be disappointed.

If you are looking to explore life in Andalucia's "Pueblos Blancos", El Gastor Village Lodgings is the perfect, central location. The town is small enough that you can truly feel like you've gotten off the touist beaten path, but still easily accessible to the other villages, including Ronda which is only a short drive away. We stayed with Jackie and John for a week in their delightful B&B and were treated with welcoming hospitality, a delicious breakfast each day, and a lovely, comfortable room. The common area/living room is also very nice, and we loved hearing the church bells from the rooftop terrace.
We loved exploring the area. There are plenty of day hikes around town and in the nearby Sierra de la Grazalema national park, a beautiful town swimming pool, and our personal favorite, "La Playita" a grassy recreation and picnic area with a large natural pool. it's important to have a car to explore this area, the drives are spectacular! The B&B has free, easy parking, which is something you likely will not find in Ronda.
We truly loved it here and highly recommend it for a visit to this part of Spain.

I am happy we selected to stay there. John and Jackie seem to be well organized couple. The whole transaction online ,payment through PayPal, arrival time , welcoming at the house and every day help with any questions you may have were provided with superior service. The house is spotless, our room was very clean and quite roomy. The electric kettle in the room , some tea or instant coffee were very helpful. This is an ideal location to see nearby attractions like Ronda, Gazalema National Park, other white villages .It is my pleasure to recommend this place to anyone who wants to travel on his/her own via Andalusia.
