Alcaucin has a selection of bars, restaurants, shops and banks. At the foot of the mountain is the lively village of Puente don Manuel with a wider range of amenities. Nearby are facilities for walking, cycling, horse riding etc. Just an hour from Malaga and 90 mins from Granada airport.

The sea and beaches can be reached in 20 mins at the coastal resort of Torre del Mar. At Torre del Mar there is a water park, go karting, ten pin bowling, cinema etc. A little further along the coast is Torrox Costa (which is said to have the best climate in Europe), both resorts have excellent promenades and many bars and restaurants. The lively resort of Nerja is 30 mins away. Torremolinos and Benalmadena are 1 hour away.
