Finca el Rio is situated in a pretty and peaceful spot on the banks of the Rio Grande with lovely mountain views all around near the village of Guaro in Andalucia.It extends to 2 acres in all with very pretty gardens, citrus groves,beautiful trees, a lovely swimming pool, jacuzzi and patio area and is an ideal location for a tranquil and relaxing holiday. It is also perfect for anyone who enjoys walking and birdwatching.

The accommodation consists of a clean and modern 2 bed roomed holiday chalet which the owners have located some distance from their own villa enclosed in its own peaceful garden area with a pergola, hammock and sunbeds as well as plenty of shade trees if the sun gets too much.

The chalet, which has the advantage of air conditioning and heating unit, full double glazing and roller shutter blinds, consists of a good sized open plan living area with plenty of seating, a dining area for 4 and a fully fitted kitchen which is equipped with a 4 ring gas hob, microwave oven, large fridge/freezer, electric kettle, toaster and a good selection of pots, pans, crockery and glassware etc

Satelitte t.v. with all the free to view channels, is installed and there is also a DVD player, a CD player, radio and a good selection of CDs, DVDs, books and games.In addition the area has the benefit of a WiFi internet connection and a BBQ.

A laundry service is provided free of charge.

There are 2 bedrooms in the chalet, one double and one twin, a shower room with wash basin and a separate toilet also with hand wash basin. There is also plenty of storage space and large patio doors that look out onto a good sized garden partly laid to grass and stone.A cot can also be provided if required.

In this you will find a pergola with a patio set for al fresco dining and a hammock in the orange trees for that after dinner siesta.The chalet has its own private access and plenty of parking space.

A little bridge takes you over a stream at the back of the chalet and a short walk through the orange grove shaded by pomegranate trees will lead you to the tropical garden or to the swimming pool and patio areas which you are free to use up until 9.00 pm at night. There is also a wonderful state of the art hydro-therapy hot tub/jacuzzi for you to enjoy,(not suitable for children or pregnant women) and delightful sunny or shady areas for you to relax in.



In conclusion then this lovely holiday chalet at Finca el Rio offers excellent accommodation for anyone looking for a quiet retreat for a relaxing holiday. The grounds of Finca el Rio are quite delightful, the owner, being a keen gardener, has designed and produced a charming garden with a mixture of formal and wilderness areas with plenty of places tucked away to sit and enjoy it in.

The beautiful swimming pool is occasionally used by the owners but guests are free to use it up until 9.00 p.m. in the evening. There is also a hot tub/jacuzzi for your use and a sauna, there is a small charge for the latter to cover additional electricity. As there is no washing machine a laundry service is offered free of charge.

The nearest village is Guaro,l.5kms over the mountain track, or 8km. by tarmac. Here you will find a few shops bars and restaurants.Then a bit further on, 8kms. away, is Coin which is a very lively Spanish market town where you will find plenty of shops, bars and restaurants plus a cinema and bowling alley, large indoor swimming pool, tennis courts etc. Also within easy distance is the lovely old town of Ronda and the historic city of Granada with the beautiful Alhambra Palace.

The Costa del Sol with its long sandy beaches,excellent shopping, restaurants, nightlife and golf courses is just 30 minutes away.


Local events which may be of interest are the Romeria which takes place at the river around 15th. May and the Luna Mora, a candle lit feria in Guaro, early in September, depending on the phases of the moon.

Price is based on 2 people sharing, there is a supplement of 20.00 per person per week for 3rd. and 4th. guest. All prices are fully inclusive of electricity, gas,linen, towels and cleaning. For a larger party there is also a double studio apartment with kitchen and shower room which can be taken for an additional 150.00 , 200.00 or 225.00 pounds per week. Ideal for extra friends or grandparents. The simplest and safest method of payment is either via online transfer from your online account to mine or by an electronic transfer direct from your bank to mine. You can also pay by personal cheque or direct counter payment at any branch of the Abbey Bank, full details sent at the time of booking. You may also pay using paypal but unfortunately as a result of paypal´s charges to the recipient, they make none to the sender, this method incurs a 4% surcharge on all monies sent. However for visitors outside Europe this may still prove the best method.
