Vacation Rental Description
The rolling hills of inland Andalucia have long been a favoured destination for those looking for peace and tranquillity. This large exclusive and very private retreat is situated at the edge of the Ronda mountains with spectacular south facing views across to the Mediterranean.
The four bedroom finca has been extensively renovated and refitted by the present owner to create a truly unique home combining the finest elements of rustic Spain with the latest home comforts.
This is a luxurious finca with a real “ WOW Factor ” having it´s own indoor heated spa area.
Lovingly remodeled and sympathetically decorated it offers the rare chance to ENJOY a luxury home near the picturesque village of Gaucín. From the indoor Spa to the spacious Mirador, it´s a great place to " chill out "
Facilities
Salon has a double height living room with wood burner and Bose sound system TV/Library has a bookcase with built in 50” TV + DVD player and a Xbox 360 Kinetic play station with games. Large cd & dvd collection.Many for children There are 4 Bedrooms all with en suite bathrooms.Master Bedroom has a King Size 4 poster bed, an open fireplace and TV + Dvd/Cd player. There is also a separate dressing room. Master Bathroom has luxurious inset bath. Outside there is a 10 metre long swimming pool wrapping around the Mirador. There are terraces, a barbecue and bar. There are plenty of sun loungers and garden chairs. Ample parking for 10 cars. The finca is not suitable for wheel chair access. Maid service included for the servicing of bedrooms 6 days a week between 09.00-13.30 not available on Tuesdays.Self service Continental breakfast included available between 09.00-10.00 not available on Tuesdays.
Activities
Finca de Palmero is 7 kilometres from the village of Gaucín south facing and surrounded by mature trees predominantly oaks, carobs and olives with fabulous views down to the coast - on a clear day you can see Morocco.Sandy beaches are less than 45 minutes away at Sabinillas and Golf Courses at Valderama, Sotogrande, San Roque, La Duquesa, Alcaidesa, Almenara and Estepona are all less than an hour away. For the more energetic riding, walking in the surrounding hills or sailing and windsurfing at Tarifa, a 60 minute drive. Or you can take a day trip by hovercraft from Tarifa to Tangiers in Morocco. In the winter months skiing in the Sierra Nevada is two and a half hours drive away.
Nearest shopping is Gaucín which has, 2 banks with cash dispensers, supermarkets, post office, doctor, medical clinic, pharmacist and , of course, restaurants and tapas bars. Marbella with its shops, restaurants and night life is an hour away!

Prices are for the property per week in Euros. Payment by international bank transfer please. First payment due is a 30 % non-refundable reservation deposit. We appreciate that cancellation charges cause distress, but for a small operation they are unavoidable. We rarely receive late booking requests, thus cancelled booking are almost impossible to replace. We recommend that you take out insurance against cancellation due to unforeseen circumstances. Balance due 28 days before holiday arrival date. Please note that there will be a cash deposit of 500 euros payable on arrival to cover any damage during your stay. Arrival is no earlier than 4pm and departure by 11am. Please call ahead if late arrival. At times other than High Season we can be more flexible. Please ask.

Finca de Palmero was the venue of our eight-person, week-long vacation. The property is breathtaking by any standard. It is very well appointed throughout, yet maintains the charms of an old farm house. The four bedrooms are organized to form three semi-private areas.
The location is secluded and lies 10 a minute drive from the village of Gaucin and 45 minutes from the beaches. The secluded setting means driving for shopping or sightseeing, and sports car drivers should note that the last stretch to the property is a dirt road.
We planned to eat most meals out, but the serenity and comfort of the house changed that completely. We had dinner at home nearly every night, cooked by the great housekeepers.
In summary, this was a fantastic vacation rental, and a perfect venue for three generations of our family to get together.

We spent 2 weeks relaxing in this beautiful Finca - enjoying stunning views everyday.
Craig and Catherine looked after us wonderfully. We enjoyed some great meals and it was a real treat to be cooked for.
A wonderful Finca, beautiful location and truly excellent hospitality. Craig and Catherine were perfect hosts in a perfect setting.

WOW! What an amazing holiday. Our family decided to meet in Spain for a family gathering as part of us reside in London UK. We could not have picked a better region and property for our reunion. Finca de Palmero exceeded our expectations. The property itself allowed our children to explore nature in a perfect contained environment and boy were the swimming pools a big hit!!. The house is a perfect set up for more than one family and was inviting and relaxing.
My sister in law´s favorite place was the herb garden, which we used for meals. Craig and Catherine took great care of our needs and the dinners they prepared were nothing short of fabulous! We were spoiled and enjoyed every minute of it! Catherine introduced us to tinto de verano. We couldn´t get enough of it. What a perfect drink to have while relaxing by the pool looking at the stunning views!
John and Jane gave us a warm welcome and we enjoyed a great dinner at their house into the early hours of the morning!
All in all a perfect holiday!

P.S. We also took in trips to Granada, Seville, Gaucín, Mijas, Ronda and Casares. If time allows explore some of the small white washed towns. You will not be sorry.

“ Finca de Palmero, indeed a place with the WOW factor !! ”

From the 22nd to the 29th April, my family (3 couples with 2 babies) stayed at the Finca de Palmero, near Gaucin, Southern Spain. Our experience there was so good, that I would like to share it with you all. We were all impressed with the taste, quality and luxury of this place. Even though we had seen the photos in
their site, the live impression was fantastic !! The place was spotless and very well equipped for all aspects of family life (including cots, high chairs and bottle sterilizing equipment). This Country House was surrounded by trees and vegetation, giving it a sense of privacy and peace. The view towards the Coast
was magnificent and it was even more stunning in the afternoon, when the sun set in the horizon. The proprietor, Mr. Powell, attended promptly to the few needs we had (access to football matches on the telly !!!). Mrs. Powell showed us her herd of alpacas, which are cute but funny looking animals. But, the creme de la creme was the last night's dinner, prepared by the site manager, Craig, with the help of his partner Catherine. It cost 25.00 Euros p/head including wine and it was well worth it !! The meal was sophisticated and delicious. The best meal I have had in Spain for many years. I never thought I could get a meal like that in the middle of nowhere. We invited a couple of Expats who live in Puerto Banus, to share this meal with us, and they were just as impressed. We strongly recommend this place and we are planning to go back next year (but this time without the babies...)
