Vacation Rental Description
The cottage at Finca Siete Puertas is a fully restored traditional Andalucian casita which sleeps upto 4 people. The single storey, detached cottage is situated on a 2 acre rural finca on which we also live in another detached property. The finca is located amongst beautiful mountains of the Sierra de Grazelema National Park and 1km from the village of Estacion de Cortes de la Frontera and 5km from the “pueblo blanco" of Cortes de la Frontera. The cottage from inside and out has spectacular views across the Guardiaro valley, and is a haven for wildlife and birds. There are a number of plum, apricot, apple, pear, quince, walnut, fig, almond, Mulberry and olive trees on the finca, guests can help themselves to as many fruit and nuts as they can eat when they are ripe!! The cottage opens into an open plan living/lounge and dining area with a woodburning stove, and is comfortably furnished with a sofa, armchair, tables, lamps and rugs. It has a television, DVD player, CD player (and a large collection of DVD's, CD's and books). For the cooler periods there is also an additional gas heater. The property does not have it's own internet access, but we are happy to let guests use our internet.
The fitted kitchen area is equipped with a gas hob, microwave oven, fridge/freezer, washing machine, sink and overhead cupboards containing all the plates, dishes, pots, pans, teatowels and utensils that a family would require for self catering.
The hallway leads into a bathroom with fitted shower unit, toilet and sink. Towels are provided and are changed as necessary.
Bedroom 1 is a large spacious room with double bed, cdressing table, chest of drawers, wardrobe space, chair and rugs and additional electric radiator heating for cooler periods, and a fan for the summer.
Bedroom 2 is a small room fitted with bunk beds, chest of drawers, electric radiator. The bunk beds are full length and so the lower bunk is suitable for an adult.
Bedlinen is changed on a weekly basis. We also provide different weight quilts for the different seasons and additional throws/rugs for the beds. Towels for the pool can also be provided.
For very small children or babies we can provide a cot and a highchair, toys, books, DVD's etc!
The cottage is not air-conditioned but is cool in the summer and cosy in the winter. Wood for the stove can be provided at a small cost.
The accommodation is situated in a stunning, peaceful and idyllic environment to relax, walk, mountain-climb, birdwatch, or centrally base yourself to explore the culture and attractions of Andalucia.
The cottage has it's own outside stone patio area with pergola and areas of shade from the trees. There is a dining table and four chairs and additionals sun/deck chairs which provides a spacious area to dine or relax. We have a square chlorinated swimming pool. There are sun-loungers and deck chairs by the pool and a covered pergola for shade. The pool area, like the rest of the finca, has 360 degree breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside.
All the outside area is for use by our guests including the outside cooking/barbecue area. The outside of the cottage has lights for the night-times.
We have a child and feel the accommodation and land is a suitable and enjoyable place for children to play and have fun. The finca is gated and fenced. There is ample off-road parking available. We apologise but we cannot accommodate any animals.
On arrival we supply our guests with a selection of basic provisions such as tea, coffee, milk, wine, and water, and fresh fruit and veg grown on the finca when in season - and guests are welcome to help themselves to more fresh produce.
Facilities
The Television is not terrestrial and only plays DVD'S. The cottage is cleaned weekly when the linen, bedding and towels are changed.
Activities
The nearest village, Estacion de Cortes de la Frontera is about 1km away, it has a few bars, a restaurant, a bakery and small shops for basic items. There is also a charming railway station connecting Algeciras to Granada. The pretty white pueblo of Cortes de la Frontera is 5km.
Ronda can be reached in 35 mins by train or 45 mins by car. Granada in 3.5 hours by train. There are many pretty white villages in the immediate area, which can be reached in 30 mins or so.
There are golf courses all along the Costa del Sol and Costa de la Luz, we are happy to find information about these at your request.
We are about 1 hour's car drive from the nearest beaches of Sabinillas and Estepona. Marbella & Puerto Banus are approx 1.15 mins away, and the incredible and unspoilt white beaches of Tariffa and Costa De la Luz are about 1.40 mins away.
Info about walking in the national parks, day permits etc can also be provided on request.

Prices are for the property per night in UK Pounds. A 25% non-refundable deposit is required to secure the booking, and the balance to be paid on arrival in euros please. We are sorry that we cannot accept credit cards. Please feel free to email or telephone to discuss any enquiries you may have, we are always happy to help. We don't have a preferred changeover day. Arrival and departure times are flexible dependent on bookings. Please can you let me know if you wish to arrive very late at night.

About us....
Lawrence, Brigitte and Isabella (10 years old) have lived at Finca Siete Puertas since July 2007 when we left Buckinghamshire (UK) and our busy jobs and lives to come to Andalucia and restore the finca and it's properties. After 8 months of very hard work we opened for our first rental guests in April of 2008 and have been welcoming guests from all over the world ever since to share the beauty, tranquility, peace and stunning natural environment with us, as well as the glorious spring/summer weather and an abundance of fruit, nuts and vegetables!
The finca is perfectly located for our guests if they enjoy walking, with many walking routes starting straight outside the gate. (We can provide maps and books of walking routes too). We are also situated on the main bird migratory route between Europe and Africa which means that birdwatching enthusiasts dont have to go far to spot an amazing variety of birds including eagles, vultures, storks, woodpeckers....the list is endless.
The area is very rural and offers guests a high level of peace, solitude and privacy, a real get-away-from-it-all experience, however all the necessary amenities are conveniently 10 minutes away.
We are able to offer advice and tips on many aspects of staying in the area, including recommendations for the best places to eat, the nicest/quietest/prettiest beaches, how to get here and there, and the costs involved, in fact there isn't much we won't try to help our guests with.
Families with children of all ages are especially welcome here, the finca is a fantastic space for kids to swim and play, and we can provide a selection of toys, books and DVD's for those rare occasions they may get bored of playing in the pool! (Books and DVD's can be provided for the grown-ups too).
