Cortijo Chile, a 200 year old farmhouse, is snugly set within the grounds of Villa Chile (together with an apartment), known affectionately by the Competanians as “The Old Lady of Competa”. Villa Chile is situated in its own grounds just outside Competa offering panoramic views of both The Med and the Axarquia mountain range behind Competa. It is only a 10 minute walk into Cómpeta's main square, the Plaza Almijara, just a 60 minute car journey from Malaga and 20 minutes down to the coast and its multitude of fine beaches. 
 
The cortijo, which is one of the oldest farmhouses in Competa has been recently renovated but retains many of its original features including its fireplace, alcoves, beamed ceilings, tiled floors, a large terrace and a small private garden (both for use of Cortijo Chile only) with an almond tree providing a shady retreat on hot days.There is ample car parking and the grounds offer tranquillity and seclusion. 
 
The cortejo is all on one level and comprises 2 bedrooms (one with double bed and one with twin beds) a fully equipped kitchen, modern bathroom with bath, sitting/dining room. Double doors from the sitting room and twin bedded room lead onto the terrace 
 
There is a large swimming pool, shared with the owners and apartment guests, which provides breathtaking views over Competa and the mountains beyond.

The cortejo offers a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of every day life and is a great place to unwind after walking in the hills, a round of golf, day trips to such places as the Nerja Caves or Granada, or spending the day on one of the many fine beaches. The barbecue in the evening is always popular and whilst your food is cooking enjoy a glass of wine and watch the sun go down! 
 
Nestling in the Axarquia foothills, Cómpeta,with its Moorish roots and its abundance of white washed houses tumbling down the hillside, surrounded by almond and olive groves together with many small vineyards has something very special to offer. A Moorish settlement in origin, Cómpeta, now famous for its sweet wine, gives you a taste of the old Spain'. Competanians are naturally hospitable and kind people who make a special effort to ensure your stay is a memorable one. Providing a mix of different restaurants, cafes, bars and shops Cómpeta is an ideal holiday destination.

Painting – The clear air, stunning views, the buildings, the Spanish people and way of life make this spot an artist’s Paradise. It is still possible to see the farmers walking their mules out to the almond/olive groves in the early morning, also the goat herds are a feature of the area and can be seen foraging for food in the actual almond trees very near Villa Chile.
