Lemon Grove Farmhouse and Cottages are possibly the oldest buildings in this lovely hamlet of Llano Almendra (pronounced Yano), they are over 200 years old and have character flowing through them.

The main farmhouse can comfortably sleep 7 via 3 charming bedrooms and all guests will be looking to make a stake in the master bedroom first for it's size, tranquillity and own private terrace.

There is also a wonderful added bonus of a small lounge area just off the metal spiral stairs that lead to the bedroom, which is great for relaxing before bed, but also doubles as an ideal extra child's bedroom as it has a sofa bed that can sleep 2.

So this flexibility can be handy for families that want the smaller children to be close by.

On the ground floor is a lovely bunk bed room which also has a third bed, a fantastic and fun environment for children to be on their own and next to it a sweet lounge again great for keeping the children happy with a little TV time.

Up a few steps is another double bedroom.

The stylish and well equipped kitchen is designed for the chefs of the groups to still be involved in a group environment as although all 3 properties have kitchen facilities, the Farmhouse has the better set up and the lovely covered terrace is just outside it's door and families and groups will migrate to that area once the dinner bell is rung !!

There is a facility for the majority of guests to be able to sit inside and dine, but the set up is designed for independent living and alfresco dining and why would you not in an area of Spain that is known for it's 300 days of blue sky days and stunning evenings plus the added ingredient of tranquillity which this hamlet has.

The larger cottage next door has a lounge area and kitchenette and shower room and upstairs are 3 bedrooms, of which one is a double, another a single and the third a twin with the facility to pull out another single bed.

The smaller cottage is great for elderly guests as it is fully self contained and has an open plan lounge with a double bed and also a kitchenette and shower room all on one floor.

This wonderful and historic collection of buildings are all attached to each other and allow full flexibility in allowing family groups and friends to have their own space whilst being drawn together whilst having fun in the lovely pool or finding shade in the gardens and grounds or of course sunbathing on the pool terrace and the terrace that leads off from there.

For eating outside the BBQ is just outside the farmhouse door and the lovely 8 x 4 m pool is down some steps and behind a locked gate, which really helps families to relax. Just down from Lemon Grove is the river, dry in spring and summer which is a fantastic natural play area for children and a great and different walking environment for adults, you can walk all the way down to the Mediterranean if the desire takes you and time allows.

The whole set up is like stepping back in time with bread oven on show and mule tie rings still positioned in the exterior walls.

The whole interior has been lovingly restored and character kept but modern facilities added.

Above Lemon Grove is one more cottage know locally as the chapel due to its styling, this is where Ian and Avra live with their 3 dogs, it is handy having the owners on site for advice and the odd bit of help that may be needed, but at the same Ian and Avra are not obtrusive and are as discreet or as helpful as you require.

The three buildings allow families and groups to spread out and have their own space. There is plenty of terrace space around the pool and a also just a few steps away in amongst the trees.

Lemon Grove Farmhouse and Cottages are perfectly located to experience the rural element of Andalucia, in a lovely hamlet that has hardly changed since it was built 200 years ago.The whole area is steeped in Moorish history and the location allows you to switch between a relaxing environment and also within 30 minutes experience beach life, towns and tour the many beautiful white villages that surround this hamlet.
Also Malaga,Gibraltar, Ronda and Seville are all reachable with 1-3 hours.
The local bars are not tourist prices so you can still get a menu of the day for 5-7 € including 3 courses and a drink and bottles of San Miguel are only around the 1.20€ mark not bad for a trendy drink in the UK, wine is still great value and fresh fruit and vegetables though not as uniformed in shape as the ones for sale in the British supermarkets usually tastes better and is far cheaper.
