Villa San Antonio is set in 5000sq mts of fenced, landscaped gardens in a secluded peaceful area just outside the old Moorish village of Almogia, which is just 45mins from Malaga Airport.
Almogia is north of Malaga, approximately half-way between Malaga and the ancient Roman capital of Andalusia, Antequera with its monuments, shops, restaurants and Wolf Park. It links very well with the motorway network, giving easy access for day trips to Cordoba, Sevilla, Granada and the Sierra Nevada with its winter Skiing.
The villa has recently been totally refurbished to a very high standard and has its own private pool and beautiful gardens.
There are plenty of shady areas and terraces, allowing you to just relax and for al-fresco eating there is a covered dining area with a built-in barbecue
The villa is entered through a small, glazed sunroom and off the sunroom is the comfortable sitting room which has two sofas and a sofa bed positioned around a wood burning fireplace and a flat-screen satellite television. The sofa bed converts into a double bed, giving extra sleeping space for two people if necessary.
The villa is equipped to a very high standard; in the sitting room as well as the television, there is a DVD player and a good library of DVDs, a portable CD/MP3 player/radio, plenty of books and games to keep everyone amused.
The open-plan kitchen/diner has a table that seats six in comfort and along with a generous supply of crockery, glasses etc; a modern electric oven with gas hob and extractor; a dishwasher; washing machine; tall fridge/freezer; microwave; filter coffee machine; toaster and toasted sandwich maker
Also supplied as standard are all bed linen and towels including pool towels which are all changed every Saturday; sufficient dishwasher and washing machine detergent tablets; toilet rolls; washing up liquid; kitchen roll; dishcloth and sponge; tea towels and hand towels.
Two of the three bedrooms are en-suite. The master bedroom has a queen-sized bed and plenty of storage in the pine wardrobe and chest of drawers and the master en-suite bathroom has an extra-length bath with shower over, a vanity unit and wc suite.
The second bedroom has a queen-sized bed and built-in wardrobes and the adjoining en-suite has a walk in shower, vanity unit and wc suite. The third bedroom, which is adjacent to the main bathroom, has two single beds which can be joined together to make a large double if required.
The main bathroom has a bath with shower over, vanity unit, bidet and WC. All bathrooms have their own hairdryers.
The whole property is air-conditioned for the summer heat, and for comfort in the winter, as well as the log-burning stove in the sitting room (with logs provided), there is oil-fired central heating throughout the house.
The villa is surrounded by tiled terraces offering plenty of space to relax, and most of the rooms have a view of the pool and gardens
Five minutes away is the village of Almogia which has several interesting restaurants, including a pizzeria, all of which offer a take away service.
Beyond Almogia there are more restaurants to be found in Puerto de la Torre, and if you venture on into Malaga, the world is your oyster (or almeja, depending on your taste).
In the other direction is the hamlet of Pastelero which has two restaurants, the second, Venta Pastelero is by far the best value around, your host, Paco will make you very welcome.
10 minutes further on in this direction is Villenueva de la Concepcion where you will find plenty of restaurants and bars, including, Restaurant Rincon de la Ville which has very good food at reasonable prices.
Another 20 minutes drive brings you to Antequera, an historic town with plenty of sophisticated eating places and bars.
On the road to Antequera is El Torcal National Park with strange rock formations and eagles flying overhead
Activities
In addition to the activities nearby, the costa is 40mins drive away with its beaches, theme parks, water sports, golf and shopping.
The historic cities of Malaga and Antequera, both full of monuments and historic buildings together with modern shops and restaurants, are well worth a visit, take a carriage ride around Malaga in the cool of the evening then go on to eat at the many tapas bars.
Villa San Antonio is a good base for sightseeing further afield, Cordoba, Sevilla and Granada and the Alhambra are all within a two hour drive and soon the AVE will bring Madrid into reach in 45 minutes from Antequera.
Just before Antequera, on the road to Alora is The Wolf Park which is extremely interesting, you can visit any day but on Friday evenings in the summer they do a fixed price BBQ and after you can see the wolves being fed and join in and howl with them
