Vacation Rental Description
Cortijo Los Arrendajos was built in 2004 in a most traditional Spanish style and so it offers modern conveniences with a very authentic Spanish feel. The emphasis on exposed wooden ceilings, wooden shutters and blinds, tiled floors and traditional Spanish decoration set the tone for the house. The property is all on one level and has tiled floors throughout which make it very suitable for the disabled. The pool faces south and has full sun all day long but those who prefer shade can always find shelter under the porch where the outdoor table and chairs are normally placed. Loungers and recliner chairs are provided and a full bookcase of books is there for those days when it is lovely to sit by the pool and not do too much! The villa has grounds of approx. 3.5 acres, the area close to the villa being fenced, and is set in a wonderful position with views of mountains, olive groves and arable farmland. Our visitors have described it as "tranquil," " a haven," "just perfect," and "stunning." Its situation encourages visitors to really relax and enjoy their holiday and all the facilities make this very easy!

    • The house is exceptionally well equipped....well we go there on holiday ourselves!.........and visitors are always asked "Did you feel there was any item of equipment which was missing and could have improved your holiday?" And we always listen to our guest feedback! Consequently even the smaller items ( wi-fi internet connection, hairdryer, iron,ipod to stereo lead, cool box for bringing home the delicious locally made ice cream!) have been thought of.

    • "Los Arrendajos" is approx.15 mins away from the country town of Montefrio where there are shops, bars, and restaurants galore.Granada is obout 1 hrs drive away and is a fascinating city with an amazingly rich historical background with the crowning glory being the Alhambra Palace.It has an old Moorish quarter and then a much more buzzy cosmopolitan atmosphere in the newer part of the city. 
    The lake at Iznajar ( for swimming and water sports) is about 1.5 hrs drive away, as is the coast at Nerja.

    A 25% deposit secures the booking and the balance is due 6 weeks before arrival. A damages deposit of 200 euros is sometimes required (collected and returned by the agent on site).Prices are for the house but discounts may be available for longer stays or sm,all occupancy. The villa ideally sleeps 6 people but if the folding beds are also required to make a total of 8 there is a small extra charge. Bed linen and bathroom towels are provided but visitors are asked to bring their own pool towels
