Main Description

An interesting older property essentially on 2 floors, the sitting room being on the top floor at road level, with bedrooms at a lower level, plus a small roof terrace.

We love our holiday home. This is the chance to visit the Spain of the Spanish. Moraleda has some British residents, but they are few, and you will be meeting local Spanish people who do not speak English. The locals are very friendly, and a phrase book is all that is required for a wonderful holiday, with pavement restaurants and cafe bars to visit every day.

There is everything available for self catering including Freezer, TV & DVD, Radio and CD player. It is a simple cottage but comfortable. There is no pool. We keep the rent low becuase we would rather have the cottage occupied than earn high rents.

The English agent lives about 30 minutes drive from our house so that there is help available in emergencies. Access late at night is not a problem for UK citizens but for night time arrivals, booking 3 weeks in advance is essential for non UK residents so that we have enough time to post you a door key. There is a shopping service that enables you to order food and drinks to be delivered to the cottage before you arrive - particularly useful if you arrrive on a Saturday or Sunday when shops may be closed. (Local shops all close Saturday lunchtime and open again Monday morning.)

There are many extraordinary places to visit in Granada (about 40 minutes by car) and a full list of these with opening hours and directions are available when you book. If you wish to visit the Alhambra Palace you can buy tickets at the gate, but it is far easier to book on-line from the UK. Contact us for more details. Guided tours of Granada in an open top bus are also available to be booked on the day.

You are welcome to telephone us or email for more detailed information.

If you like hill walking, the foothills of the Sierra Nevadas are beautiful and best accessed through the Alpujarras, where lovely coloured pottery and basketwork is on sale, and bright coloured weaving of mats and rugs are for sale in the high Alpuharras which are approached along small roads of breathtaking beauty. A day or two spent in this area, directly to the south of the main Nevada mountains, is not to be missed. Little cafes and bars abound.

A village location with lovely walks close by, and within easy reach of the Sierra Nevadas, Granada & the Alhambra, the Albaicin, Cordoba and more. A wondeful quiet destination with plenty of places to eat from very low cost and upwards. Advice and assistance given with flights and car hire. 40 minutes from Granada, 30 minutes from Granada airport and 75 minutes from Malaga airport.

This is our own holiday home and we love it - we keep the prices low because once we have covered the annual running costs we are more interested in having the cottage occupied and lived in, than in making a profit.
