Our traditional 2 bedroomed village house is situated in Competa, a traditional Andalucian village nestled in the Sierra de Almijara mountains, about one an a half hours from Malaga airport. The village is really welcoming with friendly bars and restaurants, where you can hear flamenco late in the evenings. A perfect location for long winter lets - no need for a car as you are in the village with all its amenities.
On ground floor, there is split level lounge with 3 sofas, TV video, HiFi; second floor: modern kitchen with separate dining room through arch; third floor twin bedroom and double bedroom and top floor, bathroom, utility room with washing machine and roof terrace with superb views of village and mountain. This is a most beautiful part of Spain, with a view of spectacular mountain areas, comprising of terraced hillsides and fertile, well-watered valleys. It has orchards of orange and olive trees watered by a unique Moorish irrigation system that was developed over a thousand years ago.
The house itself is cosy and compact, (about 75 sq metres in total). It is nearly 100 years old and is in keeping with the style of the village, with some of the walls being nearly 24” thick. Being a traditional village house, the rooms extend over three floors with a private roof terrace with great views over the mountains.
The house is very conveniently situated, just a short walk from the main square but in a quiet pedestrian street. Close to shops etc., Access is via a covered walkway, featuring wooden beams and bamboo thatching, and our house is the first on the left, with a large blue door beautiful mosaic façade. Just a 5 minute walk to pick up hot bread and croissants in the morning for breakfast.
