Vacation Rental Description
The accomodation provides self catering facilities to sleep 5 and possibly 6 with use of sofa bed in loune. The ardens and pool area are perfect for relaxation and the property is ated to provide added security for children. El Cuarton lies midway between the historical town of Tarifa and the port town of Algeciras. There are beaches 9km away in either direction, Tarifa being the jewel. Tarifa provides many kilometers of fine golden beaches with numerous kite surfing and wind surfing schools in operation. There are several beach bars and restaurants fronting the beaches and the viewa to Africa are unbeatable. (To watch the the sun go down from a prime position sipping a cool drink, heaven.) There are also picnic areas in the pine forests lining the beaches, these are very popular on sundays and bank holidays with the local spanish people so go early to get best pitches. The area is very well known and popular with bird watchers, who come to see the many varied species that visit the area on their journeys to and from the African continent.
There are many supermarkets and a department store with hypermarket in Algeciras, along with a large Tuesday market amd daily fruit and veg market. Tarifa boasts a few supermarkets and daily fruit and veg market. Local tapas bars are very good value and many offer "menu del dia" which normally offers 3 courses plus a drink for roughly 9 euros. These menus change daily and are very good value. The accomodation is easily accessable either by road or air. If you are thinking of driving, Bilbao is about 10hours away by road, so an overnight stay is recommended. If you are planning to tour whilst on holiday this area would be ideal as the road network is excellent and the ports in both Tarifa and Algeciras will both take you to Tangiers within 45mins to 2 hours depending on ferry available. This trip is highly recommended as the tourist board in Tangiers have cleaned up there act and provide a enjoyable trip, either by registered guide or solo for the more adventurous.
We can also provide bed & breakfast accomodation for people who do not want to self cater. We have a double en-suite room and a twin room with private shower room. These rooms have full use of the facilities provided.
Please not that the properties are child friendly.
All accomodation is NON SMOKING.
Facilities
Apartment on first floor consisting of breakfast kitchen, double bedroom with extra bed and master bedroom with large bed. Shower room with walk in shower. All bed linen and bathroom towels provided. Range style cooker in kitchen complete with extensive kitchen equipment, Dining table and chairs. Outside there is a private roof terrace with garden furniture and BBQ. Direct access to shared 10m x 5m swimming pool with sun beds. Ample parking space within the property and lock up storage suitable for surfing gear. Pets welcome with prior notice. 5 minute walk to restaurant, petrol station with shop and bus stops to Tarifa and Algciras( Both 9km in either direction) Many further ventas and restaurants within a 5 minute drive. Gibraltar 30 minute drive away, Cadiz 1hour 15minutes and many other nearby towns. Cleaning service can be arranged for a fee and also shopping can be arranged. Evening meals can be prepared with prior notice.

Coach station in Algeciras with services to all main towns and cities.

Prices for the apartment are priced weekly with a high season rate July to September and easter and Christmas. A low season rate for the remainder of the year. B ed & Breakfast is priced daily again with an high and low season rate. A booking deposit of 30% is required, payable either by cash deposit or cheque. (Euros and sterling accepted.) Cancellation must be notified within 14 days for full refund. Balance payable on arrival with a 150 euro holding fee. Please note that bookings for 1 week or more in April and May will be subject to a 50 euro discount. We can provide a shopping service and evening meals with prior arrangement.

Casamccallion our small piece of paradise.
We have owned the property since 2004 and have lovingly built it up and landscaped the gardens. As the house is large and we enjoy company (our family all grown and living in the UK), we decided to open our home to visiting guests. We have welcomed people from all over the world, including Australia and New Zealand and find it enjoyable to experience all the different cultures. Last spring we had 3 brave souls from the USA who swam the straits from Tarifa to Africa. They managed to achieve the record time for the season.
Tarifa provides all sorts of entertainments and our family never tire of visiting the area, (even the single 20 somethings find the place entrancing). We call Tarifa the "Town of the beautiful people" as you find people of all ages and styles mingling and mixing together.
