Vacation Rental Description
This second floor apartment is 500m from the beach and has 2 bedrooms, a lounge/dining room with cable TV/Spanish digital TV, bathroom with shower, washing machine, a fully fitted kitchen, a residential swimming pool, off-street parking and a large than average terrace with spectacular views towards Cadiz and the famous old fishing village of Sancti Petri. A cot and baby-chair can be provided for a small cost. You are only a short walk to a bar, restaurants and a cafe, and a 3 minute drive to the beautiful sandy beach of La Barrosa (which is 8km long) where there are a lot of places to eat and drink, as well as a bank and commercial centre. The apartment is only 500 metres to the beach where you can swim, lie on the sand, enjoy the rock pools searching for crabs and fish or take a walk towards the old fishing village of Sancti Petri and relax in the bars, restaurants and cafes. The balcony has a table and chairs, and there are additional four beach chairs to relax and enjoy the view. There is a communal pool only accessible to residents of the complex. The pool season is 15 June - 15 September.
La Barrosa beach is 8km long and has an abundance of fine white sand and clear blue water. There is the popular urbanised promenade area with cafes and restaurants as well as the more natural parts with sand dunes. The sea food is excellent and the area is very popular with the Spanish who travel down in the summer from the cities to cool off.
It is only 500 metres to the beach where you can swim, lie on the sand, enjoy the rock pools searching for crabs and fish or take a walk towards the old fishing village of Sancti Petri and relax in the bars, restaurants and cafes. You can even choose to spoil yourself at the Arab Baths in the Tartessus Centre.
The Costa de la Luz has abundance of blue flag sandy beaches a short distance away. The historic fishing village of Sancti Petri has water sport facilities and fishing, Tarifa is a mecca for wind-surfing enthusiasts and at Bolonia beach there are Roman ruins in excellent condition (free to EU passport holders).
You can take a Bodega Sherry tour, go on a ferry across the Straits to Morocco, see the famous Jerez dancing horses, take a boat trip into the peaceful surroundings of Donana National Park, go whale watching from Tarifa or take the cable car up the Rock at Gibraltar and enjoy duty free shopping.
Facilities
Bedrooms: Bedroom 1 has a double bed, bedside tables, a large built-in wardrobe and chest of drawers with a hair dryer. Bedroom 2 has two single beds, bedside table and a similar sized built-in wardrobe. Bathrooms: The bathroom consists of a bath with shower over, toilet and basin. Kitchen: The kitchen has views over the pool and has a 4 ring gas hob, microwave, fridge freezer, washing machine, coffee maker, toaster, food mixer, kettle. It is well equipped and has a good number of plates, crockery, glasses and utensils. Utility Room: There is a washing line on the balcony as well as an airer, iron and ironing board. Living Rooms: The lounge has a sofa as well as separate armchairs, coffee table and wall units. There is a television, DVD player, Spanish digital and cable channels. Cleaning/towels/linen/maid service: Towels and linen are provided (not beach towels) and the property will be cleaned immediately prior to arrival.
Activities
La Barrosa is a popular Spanish holiday resort located in the Cadiz province of the Costa de la Luz, Spain. This is a beach resort with a chilled-out atmosphere in the Winter and a great energy in the Summer. The resort is situated near to the southern-most tip of Spain facing the Atlantic Ocean so the lovely breeze in the Summer time takes the edge of the heat. The resort has strict building regulations like the rest of the Costa de la Luz coast-line and there are no buildings above 3 storeys. On the main street and the beach front at La Barrosa are many restaurants and bars.
You can even choose to spoil yourself at the Arab Baths in the Tartessus Centre.
For bird watching enthusiasts there is the beautiful salt marshes (Salines de Chiclana) at Sancti Petri where you can see many different species, including flamingos, from purpose built viewing stations and you can also take a ferry to the protected habitat of Donana National Park.

Bookings that cross over two different rates will be charged pro-rata. Arrivals after 20.00 and on Sundays will incur a supplementary payment of 30 euros. Long term and winter lets are available by separate arrangement. Please contact us for special monthly rates. Why not escape the winter blues and stay in an area that enjoys over 300 days of sunshine a year and winter temperatures of over 50 degrees Fahrenheit? Changeover day is totally flexible. Preferred arrival time is from 4pm with departures by 10am but we will try and accommodate any special requests. Confirmed bookings require a 20% deposit of the total rental amount paid by bank transfer within 5 working days. Final payment is due 6 weeks before arrival by bank transfer, or immediately if it is less than 6 weeks.
