La Herradura is an unspoilt traditional Spanish seaside town approx 1 hour from Malaga and Granada Airports. It has excellent restaurants, tapas bars and shops also a covered market on the seafront with fresh produce every day. Untouched by mass tourism it is ideal for a family holiday.
This coastline is an area of outstanding natural beauty, designated as a 'parque natural' ideal for walking with spectacular views, secluded beaches and pine clad mountains.
The beach is clean and well maintained with various water sports including a PADI registered diving centre and windsurfing school.It is 5 min by car 'plenty of free parking along the beach' or 15 minutes walking from the apartment. The cheringuito beach restaurants are idyllic for a long lazy lunch, whilst the Marina with more quayside restaurants offers yatching facilities. With mountains as a backdrop this coastline has stunning views and many secluded beaches to be discovered on foot or by car.
Close by is 18 hole coastal golf course in Salobrena ( 15mins) Seasonal Skiing and snowboarding at the Sierra Nevada resort. see www.sierranevadaski.com. The breathtaking attractions of Granada's architecture plus Alhambra Palace.
Malaga's museums and Cathedral plus excellent shopping.
Further afield. Gibraltar, Seville, Ronda, Cordoba and the Sierra Nevada mountains with pretty white washed villages are all accessible within a 1 day tour.
Ten minutes west by car is Nerja with it's lively nightlife and historic caves. Ten minutes East is Almunecar town, with Water Park see www.almunecar.com plus the very lively Friday market...with so much to see we strongly recommend car hire.
