Vacation Rental Description
The pretty white village of Competa nestles in the foothills of the Almijara Mountains - our beautiful Townhouse is situated in the upper part of the village and is typical of the traditional casas of the region but offers quality accommodation for up to 6 people. Recently renovated to a very high standard, all the decor, furniture and contents are brand new. The house is on a quiet street towards the top of the village and affords breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside and coast.
The property is built over 3 floors. The ground floor has a reception area, lounge, bedroom, bathroom and fitted kitchen. The kitchen includes breakfast bar with stools, fridge freezer, hob and every kitchen utensil you could need. Cutlery, crockery and glassware for up to 8 people. The longe has a flat screen TV with Freesat Satellite TV (UK Channels)and a DVD player.
Both the lounge and reception area contain a leather double sofa bed and curtains for privacy and are tastefully furnished to a high standard.
The ground floor bedroom contains a single or a king size bed to accommodate one or two persons and also contains a fitted wardrobe and window with shutters.
A decorative staircase leads to the master bedroom with Juliet balcony. The room contains a flat screen TV with Freesat Satellite TV (UK Channels)and DVD player, double bed, bedside tables with lamps, two 4 drawer chests and a wardrobe. From the master bedroom, an open plan staircase leads to a small room with seating and a door onto a roof terrace.
The roof terrace has furniture including a table and 4 chairs allowing al fresco dining or just somewhere to enjoy a glass of the local wine whilst watching the sunset over the ocean.
A communal pool and tennis courts are just yards away from the house and the main village square, bars and restaurants are a very short stroll away along the narrow cobbled village streets.

Car hire is advisable from Malaga airport but taxis can be arranged by the owner if required. Car hire is also available in the village as is a bus service. Parking is free on any of the nearby streets or in the village carparks.
The nearest beach is a 25 minute drive away and Frigiliana, just one of the lovely surrounding villages, is 35 minutes, as are the bustling town and beautiful beaches of Nerja.

Long known as the pearl of the Axarquía is the town of Cómpeta; one of the best bases for a stay in the Axarquía.
Located seven hundred metres above sea level with stunning views of the surrounding mountains, countryside and Mediterranean,
Competa is fascinating to explore with its labyrinth of narrow cobbled streets that date back to Moorish times and spectacular views. The town is located less than an hour from Málaga airport.
Competa is self sufficient and thriving, providing its three thousand inhabitants with a municipal market for example with a fresh daily supply of meat fish and vegetables. It is a charming flower bedecked old town with its main centre, the Plaza Almijara, dominated by a magnificent sixteenth century church. This bustling square is one of the best places to enjoy a break with a choice of several bars and restaurants.
For those who like sight seeing, in addition to Competa there are many other Moorish Pueblo Blanco's nearby just waiting to be explored. Further afield Granada & the Alhambra Palace are one and a half hour's drive and Sevilla and Cordoba are less than three. For keen golfers there are two 18 hole golf courses within easy driving distance and skiing in the Sierra Nevada is less than 2 hours away.
Lovers of the great out doors will find some spectacular walks in the Sierra Tejeda and Almijara Natural parks which are literally on the doorstep. You might try the gentle strolls along Moorish irrigation channels between Competa and Canillas through citrus and Avocado plantations. Or for the more adventuress the views from the old Malaga - Granada mule track at 1000m are breathtaking.
