Casita Estalagmita is in El Canuelo, a hamlet set in the Andalucian hills at 850 metres. The hamlet is 3 kms from the province border with Granada, making a visit to either Malaga or Granada cities an easy journey. There are also charming places to visit within a few kilometers, villages and towns with their own fortress, castle, church or market to dwell over.eWalking in the hills is a very popular activity. The ara is excellent for bird watching with many rare species spotted and many exotic birds passing by. Eagles and other birds of prey are regularly seen. My summer favourites are the bee-eaters which abound. The nearest beach to us is Torre del Mar and it is about 20 kms from El Canuelo. The beach is about 1.5 kms long and is littered with restaurants on the beach with their own sunbeds and shades. Pedalos and jet ski's can be rented from the beach. Further along the coast beyond Nerja there are beaches more like a Cornish cove.
