The casita is situated in the mountains at a height of 850 metres, consequently even in high summer we still have a reasonable temperature and cooler nights. The views are superb with the furthest view being the Rif Mountains of Africa. Nearer to us you see the almond and olive groves, Lake Vinuela and the Mediterranean Sea. Our area is famous for its olive oil and peaches. The loudest noise (almost) that you'll hear is the bell's of the goats as they wander through the hillside. We are also lucky to have various hot water springs nearby. We are surrounded by other beautiful small towns, villages and hamlets worthy of a visit. The nearer ones could be visited on horse back. The cities of Malaga, Granada Cordoba and Seville are all within 1-3 hours drive from El Canuelo and are all fascinating to visit not only for their Moorish architecture but also for their very nice hotels, castles, fortresses,restaurants & shopping facilities.
