Hi
Firstly, thank you for taking the time to look at our holiday villa, Casa Bellavista, here in this beautiful region of Andalucia.
Perhaps you are intrigued as to how we ended up living in Spain, a popular question with our guests, so please read on:
My husband and I left the UK (and the rain!) in 1996.
We first moved into a run down 200 year old farmhouse, tiny windows, no glass and chickens in the roof! Over the years, we lovingly restored the property, introducing modern but retaining its traditional character. Nurtured a lush, flowering garden, which the locals ensured us was impossible, due to the summer heat, reformed the ruinous stables, re housed the chickens, started investing money, time, and sweat in other "ruins" and along the way somewhere, had 2 beautiful children(always the mothers view!)
Time has flown , the children are fluent in Spanish, correcting us all the time and we moved slowly but surely into the holiday rental market. Our properties are all located in the beautiful countryside, with spectacular views of the vallies and villages with private pools and gardens, yes they bloomed!. Spring is a carpet of colour, the aroma of almond blossom and the locals slowly awakening to the realisation that summer is on its way ( and ourselves running around like headless chickens, sorry chickens..with paint brushes, strimmers, laundry and everything for the onslaught of the impending rental season!)Summer is hot mountain breezes, lazy lunches, lots of time in the pool or at the beach and dashing about booking happy clients in and out inbetween! Autumn is glorious and walks in the pine forests, days on the beach..still, and homework rules again. Winter , well what can I say. Yes, we do have rain and yes, we have had snow (shock, horror, last time recorded in our village was 1959), but mainly we see the sun in the big blue sky. The nights are darker, the waether is "cooler" but log fires aburning, have time to catch up on whats happening on Eastenders, Coronation street, Hollyoaks, ...as if! No, we have BBQs still, blustery walks, the beach, yes again, welcome winter guests, and try and catch up with maintenance.
Xmas threatens and we all panic as to how we will get pressies in our cases for the reality check to the UK. Next thing you know we are in a New Year and off we go again. Simples!
Through sheer determination, hard work, precious advice from friends, family and clients, we have now hopefully ,finely tuned our holiday rental business, traditional, rural and relaxing betwixt modern needs comforts, to give past, present and future clients comfortable, enjoyable and relaxing holidays.
We would like to thank everyone for all their help.
