Vacation Rental Description

The Marbellamar complex consists of two low storey apartment buildings set in mature gardens, situated on the sandy beach at Calahonda, mid-way between Marbella and Fuengirola on the western Costa Del Sol and some 40km from Malaga airport (30 minutes drive). Although car hire is recommended to get the most our of the area, taxis from Malaga airport to the apartment are reasonably priced. There are bus stops directly in front of the apartment going to Marbella and Fuengirola and the resorts in between.

There are a host of golf courses along the Costa del Sol, many of which can be booked online before departure, and some where you can just turn up but you will need to have appropriate golf wear: clubs can always be hired. Calahonda and Cabopino courses are very close by. Green fees vary from Euros 30 – 130 depending on the course and electric buggies and trollies can be hired at most courses.

As well as direct access to the beach, complete with beach bar, (open from April to October) there are two swimming pools, with adjoining children’s pools, together with a private car park for the use of residents.

On the other side of the coastal road (there is a footbridge immediately outside the apartment) there is a shopping complex complete with three supermarkets (Lidl and 2 Supersols), restaurants and bars. Slightly further afield (15 minutes walk along the beach) is the beautiful marina of Puerto Cabopino with a fine selection of restaurants to suit all tastes and wallets and about 1km away “the strip” and the El Zoco complex at Calahonda boasts a wide selection of bars and restaurants.

The most impressive feature of apartment 16 is a large terrace (40 square metres) where there is ample room for al fresco dining and sunbathing, looking out over the sea. The terrace enjoys the sun from late morning till sunset. And if it gets too hot there is very welcome air-conditioning installed inside the apartment.

The interior of the apartment consists of two bedrooms (a double and a twin) and an open plan living area complete with sofa bed (therefore sleeping a maximum of 6 people). There is seating for four people at a table inside and six people outside on the terrace. Entertainment is provided by a TV with satellite channels, a DVD and a music centre. The well-equipped kitchenette comprises fridge with small freezer compartment, 4 ring ceramic hob, combined microwave oven and grill, toaster, kettle, ample cookware, cutlery, crockery and glassware and a dishwasher. The large bathroom has a toilet, bidet, bath and shower attachment and washing machine. Both the main bedroom and lounge have French windows opening onto the terrace which enjoy the sun from late morning till sunset.

The apartment is ideally suited for sightseeing. Marbella, with its old town, bullring and market and Puerto Banus with its sophisticated marina, bars and restuarants are only half an hour away by car or bus. The spectacularly sited historical town of Ronda is an hour away and the pretty white villages of Mijas and Casares slightly less. Malaga, the fifth largest town in Spain, is only 40km and has a wonderful Moorish castle and a famous Picasso museum. For those wishing to venture further afield,the historic and vibrant cities of Granada, Seville and Cordoba are about 3 hours away. The really adventurous could take a day trip to Morocco from Algeciras, down near Gibraltar. Gibraltar is an interesting place to visit with the rock, the apes and tax free shopping and is about an hour's drive.

The Costa del Sol itself has a multitude of activities for families and leaflets featuring all the attractions can be found in the apartment.

A welcome pack of groceries is provided free of charge for our guests. Towels are also included but guests need to bring their own beach towels. An iron and ironing board are available. There is a safe in the wardrobe of the main bedroom for guest use. Cot and high chair are available on request.

Apartment Rental Rates

Low Season Price : £200
High Season Price : £475 per Week


We have no set days for changeovers. Outgoing clients will be expected to vacate the apartment no later than 11.00am while incoming guests will not be able to obtain access until 3.00pm to allow for cleaning and laundry change etc. Long term lets are available by negotiation. We ask for a £100 non-refundable booking/security fee at the time of reservation with the full amount due six weeks prior to departure. The £100 will be refunded when keys are returned to us and provided that the apartment is left in good condition. Guests choosing to cancel their holiday after the final payment has been made will not receive any refund unless the apartment is successfully re-booked.
