The coast is a beautiful mixture of rocky coves & beaches. There are a couple of shingle beaches within the village (2 min walk) & sandy beaches at either end (5 min walk) of the village linked by a lovely promenade. Further down the coast at San Juan there are miles of sandy beaches with beach cafes & sun-bed hire etc. Also 10 mins away by car is the large beach of Mojacar on the other side of Garrucha. Villaricos is a small honest fishing village with a vibrant market on Sunday morning. It is well situated to visit larger towns & investigate other areas of the beautiful Almanzora valley. Nearby there are place of historical interest through to water parks & the favoured Crocodile Club with its fantastic kids swimming pool, jacuzzi & play area at Desert Springs to completely relax on the long hot sunny afternoons.
