Comfortable apartment with lounge/diner, two double bedrooms, one en suite bathroom with handbasin, toilet, bidet, bath and shower over, and a separate second shower room with handbasin, toilet and enclosed shower. A large balcony overlooks the mountains of the Sierra Cabrera. In the living area are two three-seater settees, dining table, chairs, television and radio/CD/tape system. The living area is air conditioned. The bedrooms are large. Each bedroom has a ceiling fan, and each has large windows (with shutters), one facing the mountains and the other overlooking the pool. The fully fitted kitchen has a refrigerator, freezer, oven, hob, microwave and washing machine. Linen and towels are provided. Parking is available on the road outside the apartment. There are three swimming pools immediately adjacent to the apartment, one being a toddlers' pool.

Suitability: Pets are not allowed. The apartment is not suitable for wheelchair users as there is no lift. The two flights of stairs make it unsuitable for the unfit. Children are welcome.

The Golf Development: Tamarillas lies adjacent to the eleventh and twelfth holes of the Valle del Este course, which is quite short but testing, with magnificent views. The fully stocked golf shop is in the basement of the hotel, and provides green fees, trolley and buggy hire as well as equipment and clothing. There is a practice range, and chipping and putting areas adjacent to this. The hotel and pro shop are withing a ten minute walk, or a short drive, of the apartment. The hotel has a restaurant serving a buffet/carvery dinner, a bar, internet access, a large terrace overlooking the eighteenth green, a large outdoor pool, and there is a Spa adjacent to it. In the Centro Commercial beside the hotel are a bank, a supermarket, the Venues Sports bar, a gift shop and internet cafe, a hairdresser, a tapas bar, and the excellent Fairways Restaurant. For the keen golfer, there are other courses to explore within easy driving distance: Desert Springs, Marina de la Torre, El Cortijo Grande and a new course recently opened at Pulpi. At Puerto Rey, some ten minutes' drive away, there is a sports centre with a golf driving range, chipping area, putting green and two hole par three layout, as well as Padel tennis and a bar-restaurant.

The sea: The beaches at Vera are some ten minutes' drive away. The seaport of Garrucha, with newly refurbished sandy beaches and many fish restaurants, is a similar distance. There is a water park in Vera, open during the summer months.

Shops and markets: There are four large supermarkets within easy driving distance. Vera and Garrucha have many shops, and each has a street market - on Friday in Garrucha and on Saturday in Vera.

The country: This part of Almeria is desert country of striking beauty. Particularly lovely are the mountains of the Sierra Cabrera, and a walk up to Cabrera itself from the Bar Almazora at El Cortijo Grande Golf Club is worthwhile and offers superb views. Further South is the Cabo de Gata, and its Parque National, which features the salinas, where salt has long been produced, and a colony of flamingoes which may be observed from a viewing hide.
