Theme park/Zoo called mini hollywood is about 45 minute drive away where over 100 westerns were made, you can see a wild west show, have photos done with the actors and even dress up if you wish. The zoo is not to be missed and this is a fantastic day out for young and old. There are gift shops and supermarkets nearby and a shopping complex called Copo on the way to El-ejido, where there is a tourist centre. Well worth a visit is the Gran Plaza shopping complex in Roquetas. Horse riding can be found on the nature reserve to the left of the complex, where you can also go for walks if you are feeling more energetic. Fishing can be done off the rocks. About 90 minutes drive away you can go to the Sierra Navada mountain range where there are fantastic views and you can also go skiing. Places of interest are Roquetas, Mojacar, Nijar, caves at Guadix and the wonderful beaches at the Cabo de Gaba Nature Park within easy driving distance.
