100 year old Farmhouse Katricnek has been lovingly renovated into three high-quality apartments and has an outdoor (solar heated) pool for the exclusive use of our guests. Working closely with our Slovenian architect and the local heritage board, we were determined to preserve the charm of the building as much as possible during its transformation into quality holiday accommodation. Several years later, after much hard work, we're proud to welcome you to our Farmhouse; some of the finest holiday accommodation Slovenia has to offer. Forgive us if we sound a bit smug but it's turned out really well and we're pleased as punch.

    • Our new outdoor pool sits in a secluded part of the garden, it is a great place to chill out and relax. In the evening, you can warm back up again in the jacuzzi which sits in a screened off section of the front garden so you can gaze up at the stars or the clear blue sky while your troubles get bubbled away. The back garden, meanwhile sits under a a huge cliff that surrounds the village and helps to create its own rather toasty micro climate (and in fact is used to solar heat the pool). There's a large undercover BBQ area and mini orchard with benches and loads of room to lie back and sunbathe. Climb up to the top if you'd like to go exploring, but be careful please, it's high and we get nervous. You can always just hang around on the balcony where the views are nearly as fantastic and pleasantly close to the fridge and the sofa.

    • Slovenia is rightly proud of its wonderful Julian Alps, so much so that Mt Triglav features prominently on their national flag. Just twenty five minutes from the Farmhouse, Triglav National Park and the surrounding Alps offer truly excellent hiking and walking for part-timers and serious walkers alike. Do bear in mind, however, that it is a rigidly upheld Slovenian tradition that everyone who reaches Triglav's summit for the first time receive a spanking with a piece of rope. Honestly. If this isn't your thing, don't worry, there are plenty of other mountains to climb.

    • Nearest Train Station : Bohinjska Bela at 2 kilometers distance
    • Nearest Town : Bled at 3 kilometers distance
    • Travel Info: Slovenia's principal airport, Brnik, is just 30min drive away and is served by national and low cost carriers. Klagenfurt airport in Austria is also just 50min away. The train station at Lesce-Bled has direct services through Austria to Munich and in the other direction to Zagreb and Belgrade.
