This luxurious duplex apartment is situated in the pretty town of Sao Martinho do Porto and is an ideal location for a beach holiday. 
 
The property has two balconies where one can relax and enjoy the spectacular views across the shell shaped bay and old harbour of Sao Martinho.  
 
There is a fully fitted kitchen with dining table and also a further dining area and living room in which you can dine or watch TV whilst overlooking the illuminated bay. We have a variety of DVD's for use by guests and also satellite TV. On the upper level, there are two bedrooms - one with a king size bed and a balcony which benefits from sea views and another bedroom with two single beds. Both bedrooms have large fitted wardrobes. The main bathroom has a bath with shower above. The apartment is fronted by mature palm trees which provide partial shade during the day. Outside, the facilities include the additional benefit of a communal swimming pool and gardens.  
 
The apartment is just a 75m walk to the sandy beach and protected coved bay where you can participate in swimming, fishing and other water sports or simply relax on the beach or in one of the local bars, cafes or restaurants. 
 
Nearby, there is a daily market in the old part of town where you can find wonderful fresh fish, fruit and vegetables. There are a number of traditional bakeries, butchers and local grocery shops. More recently (2009), an Intermarche supermarket has opened on the perimeter of the town.

    • This part of the Silver Coast is a beautiful area which is able to offer a host of water based activities and many historical and cultural sites. The area is home to stretches of excellent beaches. Sao Martinho itself has a quiet bay protected from the Atlantic by a headland. To the south is the old fishing port of Peniche, now a popular resort for surfers, scuba divers, kitesurfers and windsurfers. To the north is the busy seaside resort of Nazare with a funicular up the 110 metre rock face for a breathtaking viewpoint at the top. Further north is the town of Avairo and the nearby Sao Jacinto Nature Reserve. There a number of golf courses in the area - the famous Praia del Rey course is a twenty minute drive. The area has a rich cultural heritage - the nearby fortified mediaeval town of Obidos, the holy shrine of Fatima and the magnificent monasteries and stunning gothic architecture of Batalha and Alcobaca.

    A deposit of 20% is payable immediately to secure the reservation. The remaining 80% will be payable at least 6 weeks before departure together with a £55 payment for cleaning and laundry and a security deposit of £150 which is payable against damages/breakages (returnable within 7 days of the end of the holiday). To avoid problems on changeover days, guests are required to arrive after 2pm on their arrival day and leave prior to 10am on their departure day. If this is likely to cause you any difficulties, please contact the owner to see if alternative arrangements can be made. Rates in Euros or $US are available on request.

    This is perfect location in the village, close to sea and also easy to get food and eat outside.
    Seating in the balcony with great sea view in the mean time can watch your children when they play in the swimming pool, you could not get more than this!
    The appartment has big space and frendly setting, kitchen fully equided for making some food sometimes.
    We spent 2 weeks there August 2010, we regret we could not stay longer !

    We are a small family of three (Jacqueline, Terry and our son Cameron) and live in South Wales.

    We bought our apartment in Sao Martinho so that we have the security of having a lovely place to stay during our holidays and because we also intend to spend more time there in the future, when we retire.

    We love the relaxed Portugese way of life and climate and feel particularly lucky to have found such a well appointed apartment in Sao Martinho with its splendid views overlooking the harbour and its close proximity to the beach, market, shops and restuarants in the resort.

    We spend most of our holidays on the beach whilst our son skimboards on the waters edge, do a little bit of sightseeing and mainly do our shopping in the local market and shops. We frequently eat in the town's restaurants but also enjoy cooking and eating at home, followed by a game, a DVD or a reaxing drink on the balcony - bliss!
