Vacation Rental Description
Villa Reggubo was completed in 2006 and is our home for much of the year. Three of the four bedrooms have twin beds and the fourth a double bed. Three bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms, and the fourth shares a shower room with visitors. Cooling fans are provided for the bedrooms, though in fact these are rarely needed. The fully equipped kitchen is all electric, - a charcoal Webber barbeque is provided for cooking outside, - and is fully equipped with a variety of cooking utensils, ample crockery and cutlery, and drinking glasses/mugs including plastic "glasses" for use by the pool.
The large living room is approx 20 ft x 20 ft with a dining area and desk. TV has a flat screen and is served by 17 english and foreign language stations. Sky TV is available at the clubhouse. There are DVD and Video players in the villa.
A phone connection is available for emergencies, and broadband can be used at the Marriott Hotel (5 mins drive).
The fenced pool is approx 10m x 5m, and there are various floatation items (Lilos and the like). The pool has recently been converted from chlorine to a salt pool, which is more environmentally friendly and kinder to the skin.
Other activities include table tennis table in the basement, two bikes and indoor board games. Other bikes can be rented locally in Peniche.
There are five sun terraces on three levels affording magnificent views of the surroundings and the fine sunsets.
An unusual "interior garden" allows light and air to the house from the centre, with french windows that can be left open when the house is unoccupied.
The villa is located in a quiet road without through traffic with views over the golf course (17 fairway and green) the Atlantic Ocean and surrounding countryside.
The resort itself is at the end of a country lane so you will need to hire a car.
Please note our changeover day is Monday. This avoids the worst of the weekend holiday traffic and can also lead to lower air fares, as well as helping our local management with changeover routines.
Facilities
Table Tennis table, indoor board games, extensive reading books, DVDs and videos. Cot and high chair avaiable on request. Our local management provides a cleaning/linen service between lets - and during lets by arrangement with them direct. Bath towells are provided but not beach towels. Two Cool boxes for picnics. Two bikes are also available. This is a non-smoking villa, please confine any smoking to outside the house.
Activities
The Berlenga Island, about 40 minutes by boat from Peniche Harbour, is a nature reserve, and excellent for snorkelling/diving, rambling and bird watching. It is open from May to September and has a restaurant, a mediaeval fort/hotel and some very fine cliff walks. Local boat owners will take you for a small charge to explore the caves from the sea.
Peniche is famous for its fish restaurants and fort which historically acted as a prison, and is now a museum showing among other items some of the history of Peniche's speciality of lace making.
Surfing/wind surfing at nearby Baleal and Super Tubes is said to be among the best in Europe, in the open sea. In addition for water sports, the Obidos lagoon has protected water for safe wind and kite surfing, as well as sailing and fishing.

- Nearest Airport : Lisbon at 70 miles distance;
- Nearest Town : Obidos at 6 miles distance
- Travel Info: Fly to Lisbon and taxi or rental car to Praia Del Rey. Alterenatively, often cheaper flights to Oporto, but then you have a 2.5 hour drive. You do need a car at Praia Del Rey.

The rental rates shown are per week. A non-refundable deposit of £200 per week booked secures the booking, and the balance is due 45 days before the start of the holiday. At this time a damage deposit of £200 per week booked is required and this is normally returned in full within 14 days of the end of the holiday, subject to confirmation from our local management that all is in order. Payment in sterling by cheque or bank transfer. Cancellation refunds are as follows: Within 40 days of the holiday start date - 75% of the balance 39 - 30 days - 40% 29 days or less - Nil

Villa sleeps eight, on Portugal's No. 1 golf course, within 500m of Atlantic Ocean
Retired Engineer and former Director of a family owned security print company, with four married sons and nine and a half grandchildren living in UK and Australia! Villa Reggubo (name reversed is my wife's most used expression on the golf course!) is the third property we have built at Praia del Rey, each one being an improvement on the previous one. We have been renting our properties there since 2002 and have previously rented an apartment in Morzine in the French Alps. Our youngest son Charlie and his wife Claire own a chalet in the same village, which they also rent out, all the year round.
