Comfortable, newly furnished, two bedroomed townhouse situated in a peaceful location just five minutes walk from the picturesque, historic walled town of Obidos with its numerous lively bars and restaurants. The property has central heating, a well equiped, newly refitted kitchen, a newly installed downstairs shower room and large bathroom upstairs. The house is very well maintained and tastefully decorated throughout.

There is a garden to the front and rear with patios and also a balcony off the kitchen at the rear. The west facing balcony has superb panoramic views across the valley, perfect for dining or just relaxing and watching the sun go down. The property also benefits a gated drive and garage although there is ample convenient roadside parking at the front and rear of the property.

The kitchen has recently been completely refitted (spring 2011) to include crafted wooden units and granite work surfaces and has new appliances including dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer and a very good range of cutlery, crockery and cookware. Our guests also have an iron, ironing board, hairdryer and vacuum cleaner for their use.

Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other twin bedded. Both bedrooms have large wardrobes and storage space. There is a large bathroom containing WC, washbasin, bidet, bath and shower.
The lounge/diner is equipped with a large,comfortable L shaped sofa,TV/DVD, coffee table and dining table to seat 6. There is a variety of DVDs, books games and information on places of interest.

The house is ideally located benefiting from the close proximity to the town (5 minutes walk to the towns main gate)and also easy walking distance to the local supermarket and sports and leisure facilities. Obidos was voted one of the seven wonders of Portugal in 2007 and hosts a variety of musical and cultural festivals throughout the year. There is a wealth of history from Roman aqueducts to the medieval castle and city walls. Art galleries, museums and historic churches are all a few minutes walk away. There is also a free internet service provided by the local council in the centre.

Many of the stunning beaches of the silver coast and the Obidos are within 15 minute drive. Fishing, surfing, scuba diving and boating are all available nearby. Boat trips to the beautiful unspoilt Berlenga Islands can be taken from Peniche, where you can also sample the delicious local produce in the many seafood restaurants. There are several excellent golf courses nearby including the world class Praia del Rei.

    • In addition to the watersports listed above, scuba diving is also available at the Obidos lagoon. A superb, modern, indoor swimming pool is situated 5 minutes walk from the house and there are lidos and waterparks locally(Peniche and Nazare)

    • Nearest Airport : Lisbon at 50 miles distance;
    • Nearest Train Station : Obidos at 1.5 miles distance
    • Nearest Town : Caldas da Rainha at 5 miles distance
    • Travel Info: From Lisbon Airport: . Take the left fork and stay in one of the right hand lanes till you reach a large roundabout. Take the last exit on the right following signs to A1 norte, A8 Oeste and A12 Sud. The road merges and then A12 forks off but keep following signs for A8 Outras Destinos. The road joins a motorway and enters a tunnel. Get in the right hand lane and follow signs for A8 Oeste. On approaching Loures take a ticket from the toll. It will cost around 5 euros. The journey to Obidos takes about 50 minutes. From the A8 motorway, leave at the Obidos exit and follow the signs to Obidos.

    A deposit of £100 is required to reserve the property and the remainder payable eight weeks before departure. Payment can be made by cheque or direct transfer to a sterling or euro account.
