The coastline accommodates the stunning 5 miles long golden sandy beach, for which the island is famous. Here you can lounge around in the sun and take a swim in the island waters which are said to offer some of the highest concentration of minerals in the world. The sand is highly regarded for offering healing therapeutic properties: in fact there is a Centre of Thalassotherapie. Water sports naturally feature the highest activities on the island. Diving, swimming, sailing, jet ski, canoeing, water-ski, game fishing and a whole range of other sports are explored to the limits in these crystal clear waters.
Porto Santo however offers other leisure and sports activities: horse riding, tennis and especially golf: the local Porto Santo Golf, designed by the famous champion Ballesteros, is fulfilled with unique characteristics in Europe, such as the pairs distribution and, of course, its breathtaking scenery.
