Vacation Rental Description

The ground floor has a small private entrance area leading into the house entrance. Also, on the ground floor which is always cool and fresh due to the 'spanish walls' there is the open plan lounge with a new flat digital screen and staellite system and dining area, the kitchen and bathroom. On the second floor, there are 2 double bedrooms which have terrace doors opening onto a sun terrace with a sunbed & deck chairs and ocean and mountain views. On the top (third) floor of the house there is a single bedroom with mountain views is next to a second lounge/reading room area with ocean views. The lounge with a small library opens onto a second sun terrace with a barbecue and both mountain & ocean views.

Wi-fi INTERNET ACCESS is an extra available in Sunny House West but, clients must bring a portable computer. We have tried to make the houses as comfortable as possible like a private home. So, they include bedlinen, house towels, a hair dryer, some tourist information, small libraries including some fiction books, DVD films and some games. Change of linen and towels is provided weekly. CHECK-IN KIT : on check-in there is COMPLIMENTARY tea, coffee, milk and water so that you are comfortable when you check-in. Recommended for couples and families. The house IS NO SMOKING so,please smoke outside the houses.

Paul do Mar is still a centre for fishing and agriculture with a new fishing harbour and many banana fields.Now more famous for ‘the feel-good factor’ – peace and relaxation in the country on the hottest Madeiran coastline (Calheta district) with the most sunshine all year!

Popular amongst walkers, fishermen and swimmers with several safe swimming areas and closeness to famous mountain and levada walks PR 6 and the 'RABACAL - 25 SPRINGS' PR 19 walk. Attractions include WHITE SAND BEACHES next to CALHETA MARINA 10 minutes drive, a RUM FACTORY - 'ENGENHOS' with a museum. Prazeres village has several restaurants, a 17th century church, fruit and vegetable market and ‘QUINTA PEDAGOGICA’ - a free animal park, art gallery and cider house!

And then there is the award-winning international art centre: ‘CASA DAS MUDAS’ & UNESCO-protected ANCIENT LAURISILVA FOREST. Whale/dolphin-watching. big-game fishing boats operate from Calheta marina.

Travel Info: GETTING THERE GETTING TO 'SUNNY HOUSE WEST' AND PAUL DO MAR From Funchal Airport take the fast 2-lane motorway ('via-rapida') in the Funchal/Camara de Lobos/Ribeira Brava direction. Exit the motorway at Ribeira Brava and follow the signs to Ponta do Sol and Madalena do Mar. Then continue to the Calheta Marina roundabout. Do not drive down to the marina - drive up again until you see a sign saying 'Jardim do Mar' and 'Paul do Mar' and then descend through 2 tunnels to Paul do Mar right next to the ocean!

Currency: we accept payment in euros or British Pounds.
Deposit: a deposit of 30% of the rental rate must be made as soon as possible to secure a booking and the remainder must be paid 6 weeks before check-in at the accommodation.
Bookings made within less than 6 weeks of check-in: when a booking is made within less than 6 weeks of check-in, the complete payment is required and it is non-refundable.

'A fantastic, relaxing holiday' December 2011 Review Submitted: December 30, 2011 Date of Stay: December 2011 Traveller Kathleen P: It was the first time that we visited Madeira and it won't be the last one. We had a fantastic, relaxing holiday. The house is located in the middle of banana trees and offers a fantastic mountain view. The house had everything you need to spend a nice holiday including a fantastic ocean view and a terrace to relax or to have a delicious barbecue. The owners Iva and Paul are very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed every minute of our stay and we will definitively come back and recommend Sunny House to all our friends.
