In a residential area above Funchal town, in the lovely grounds of a typical Madeiran quinta, home of the Melim family, this beautiful one bedroom house is the perfect location for anyone wanting to stay in Funchal, without the fuss and bother of a car.  
 
The house is bright and freshly decorated with thoughtful personal touches, including the hand embroidered bath towels. On the ground floor you have a modern well equipped kitchen, a twin bedroom and shower room, with wc, hand basin and bidet. 
Upstairs you will find a comfortable lounge /dining area overlooking the garden and swimming pool. There is cable television, a DVD and a portable computer with internet connection. The sofa can be used as a sofa-bed, and is suitable for one adult or two smaller children. A cot is also available. 
 
The garden is beautifully kept and the spacious swimming pool area has sun beds and sun umbrellas. Pool towels are also provided. 
 
A ‘welcome basket’ of basic provisions is provided, so you don’t need to worry about rushing to the supermarket the minute you arrive. Heating is included in the rental price and a hairdryer is also provided for your convenience. 
 
The centre of town is only a 15 minute walk away, but for those that prefer public transport, there is a regular bus service right on the doorstep. Just around the corner you will find a typical restaurant, cafés and one of the best bakers in the area (fresh bread for breakfast - but watch your waistline as the cakes are tempting!), as well as a fresh fruit and vegetable store and tobacconist. If you want to treat yourself to a delicious afternoon tea or a special dinner, then the 5 star Hotel Quinta Jardins Do Lago is only a few minutes walk away.
