It has excellent road access to its own garage with electronically operated doors. It provides spacious and elegant accommodation with satellite TV and its balcony and terrace offer unparalleled views of the ocean, the village centre and church and the arc of mountains which embraces the village. Bring your binoculars and you may be lucky to spot whales, dolphins and beautiful birds of prey hanging in the air. Mini-markets, a pizzeria, cafes, a health centre and a pharmacy are only steps away. Across the road is a friendly snack bar with a range of drinks, ice creams and snacks at modest prices and free internet access for its customers. Within minutes driving there are two beaches, one sandy, a marina, numerous fine restaurants and supermarkets. This sunny corner of Madeira is an excellent all-year holiday destination.

Madeira's famous levada system offers a tranquil walking experience through breathtaking scenery and the nearest levada walk is only minutes from Vista Atlantico. Backed by soaring mountains and overlooking the azure Atlantic the Calheta area gives a taste of the real Madeira with its friendly people, superb fish restaurants, amazing scenery and cascades of flowers at all times of the year. Arco da Calheta is surrounded by an amphitheatre or arc of mountains with paragliders soaring on the air currents. It has a proper village centre a few minutes walk away with a cafe terrace above the sea and the village church. A short drive will take you to the plateau of Paul de Serra where there are more levada walks at Rabaçal with more amazing vistas.
