The charming, historic town centre of Cascais is a pleasant 15 minutes stroll, or 5 minutes by local bus or car. The is plenty to visit as well as restaurants, nightlife, cultural events, cinemas with films in English and shopping. 
 
Cascais is close to the romantic world heritage town of Sintra and half an hour from the centre of Lisbon. There is a good beach in Cascais and nearby Guincho is world famous for surfing. Six of Portugal’s best golf courses are within a ten minute drive and discounted green fees are available.

Locally, there is a huge choice of the latest films in original language with over twenty screens in four local cinema complexes reachable within 10 minutes, as are two attractive shopping centres. The summer brings international festivals; classical music and ballet in Sintra, jazz in Estoril and fireworks in Cascais.
Less far in the other direction is the coastal resort of Cascais, where you will find superb beaches, restaurants, night-life and shopping, as well as a charming old town with rewarding site-seeing.

Lisbon is half an hour away, and with easy access to the motorway system a number of other world class cultural and historic sites make an enjoyable day trip. Lisbon boasts world heritage sites, and a rich cultural, culinary and night life.

The motorway network puts the Knights Templars’ castle and chapels at Tomar and Batalha within an easy day trip, as well as the ancient university town of Coimbra.
