Our apartment in Lisbon provides you with a comfortable, well-equipped environment which is within minutes of the hubbub of the downtown “Baixa” area for shopping, a short walk up to the Castle and minutes away from the efficient Lisbon metro system. At the same time it’s a refuge after a day of sight-seeing where you can linger in the private garden/patio over a refreshing drink, cook your own food and relax in front of the TV, video or DVD. Unlike most holiday lets there’s more than enough space for the kids to be entertained in the living room at the front whilst you relax in the living area at the back. The neighbours are friendly and our English speaking housekeeper and her husband live on the floor below, happy to help you out and give advice. A car is not necessary as you really are in the heart of the city.
There are 3 bedrooms, two with double beds and one with a single. There’s also a travel cot and a double sofa bed in the front living room. The bathroom was completely redone in January 2008.
The patio outside is shaded by an orange and a lemon tree and adds an extra room to the apartment at most times of year. You can look out over the city and up towards Graça.
There’s a small grocer’s opposite and bread shops at either end of the street. It’s in the heart of Mouraria, the home of “Fado” – here you can truly feel you’re experiencing life Portuguese style rather than in suburban anonymity or tourist resort superficiality.
We always make sure that there’s a bottle of good wine and a local cheese ready for you, plus essentials such as bread, butter, milk and juice.
The apartment is always clean and ready for you, if you wish to have extra maid service during your stay then Paula is ready to help you for an hourly rate paid directly.
