Quinta do Arao is an organic citrus farm, nestled in a tranquil valley that forms part of an ecological reserve. It is only a 10 minute drive from the nearest beach, Meia Praia and a 15 minute drive from the historical town of Lagos. Palmares Golf course is a 10 minute drive away and boasts spectacular ocean views. Those who enjoy bird watching, Quinta do Arao provides the perfect setting for an abundance of bird species. The property extends over 6 hectares and sustains over 280 organic orange trees amongst others such as lemon, fig, olive, almond, pomegranate and grapefruit trees. It is an ideal setting for a relaxing holiday with family or friends either lazing by the pool or enjoying a walk in the surrounding countryside. Guests are welcome to help themselves to whatever fruit may be in season.
Casa Laranja is a spacious apartment arranged over two floors.
Ground floor: Entrance hall leading onto reception area with open plan dining and fully equipped kitchen: washing machine, dishwasher, fridge freezer, combined oven and cooker, microwave. Satellite TV (freeview channels only). Wood burning stove.
Double bedroom with beautiful en-suite family bathroom including stand alone roll top bath.

We offer a Welcome Basket at a cost of 30 Euros. This usually includes fresh bread / rolls, butter, gouda cheese, smoked ham, honey, home made marmalade, sugar, milk, tea, coffee, Meusli, seasonal fruit, fruit juice, a bottle of red wine, olives, nuts.We can also offer cooked breakfast.

- Travel Info: Faro Airport is 70kms from Arao. We would recommend hiring a car to really enjoy this part of the Algarve. One can also take a train from Faro city to Lagos. The route is very scenic and takes an hour and a half. We can arrange car hire for you at competitive prices from Faro or locally. We offer an airport pick up and drop off service for up to 3 people plus luggage at a total cost of 40 Euros each way. Please email us for details.

Our farm lies in an ecological reserve between Lagos and Portimao. It is a wonderfully tranquil area although it's not too far from local villages and towns. Meia Praia beach and Palmares golf Course are only 15 minutes by car.
