Beautiful Algarve Villa in the picturesque foothills of the Monchique Mountains yet within easy reach of Portimao, Praia da Rocha, Alvor and various golf courses.

This superb villa is only 77km from Faro airport and most of the journey is by motorway. Situated in the foothills of the picturesque Monchique mountains, it is in a secluded but not at all remote location inland from the fishing port of Portimao. It has has large airy rooms and plenty of space for 8 or 9 people.
A curved double marble staircase takes you to the first floor. The master bedroom has a double bed, a full en-suite bathroom and tv. There is room for a roll-away bed or a cot and also a balcony with pretty mountain views. Bedroom 2 has a double bed and a very large terrace outside. It shares a full bathroom with bedroom 3 which has twin beds and a small balcony. On the second floor is the tower room which has twin beds and an en-suite shower with wc and washbasin. All bedrooms have large built in wardrobes.

On the ground floor, there is a huge open plan living room. Comfortably furnished with ample sofa space it also has a sofa-bed. Heating is by a wood burner and there is satellite TV. French doors open to a small patio. The kitchen is fully equipped and the separate dining room has doors to another patio close to the pool area and kitchen. The downstairs wc has a shower, washbasin and bidet.

Outside

The villa has its own swimming pool and spa pool with attractive waterfall features. Near the pool is a large barbeque.

Set within its own area of natural countryside, the villas land extends to over 12 acres. In early springtime the Mimosa trees are in full bloom and look spectacular. Other trees on the land include oranges, lemons, cork oaks, pines and the Arbutus strawberry trees whose fruits are used to make the local firewater. A woodland path alongside a pretty stream leads to the Monchique ecozone, a network of miles of footpaths running over the Monchique hillsides.

The Locality

Nearby is the popular beauty spot of Caldas de Monchique The Monchique mountains are the highest in the Algarve at about 3000 feet and you can drive to the top to enjoy the fabulous views. Often featured in TV documentaries about the Algarve, the actual village of Caldas de Monchique is about 2 km up the road. It is well known for it`s spa waters, its unusual houses and sub-tropical appearance. Being in the foothills, the villa is only about 400 feet above sea level in an area where you can enjoy being in the countryside without being isolated. Within about 20 km (15 to 20 minutes drive) on good main roads are the fabulous beaches of Praia da Rocha and Alvor, historic Silves with its Magnificent Castle and Cathedral or the large shops and fishing port of Portimao. Lagos, Silves and Portimao all hold huge country markets each month which are well worth a visit. In fact, markets are held regularly in most towns so if you miss one, you can always get to another. There are many good golf courses within easy reach to suit all levels of skill and the superb facilities at Penina are only about a 20 minute drive away.
