Casa do Miradouro is a beautiful villa with its own daily maid and heated pool, set in a lovely walled garden. There is a large pool terrace with built-in barbecue and a large first floor terrace with panoramic views over the bay of Lagos, a birds eye view over the marina and far reaching views to the Monchique hills. Ideally situated in the peaceful countryside, yet only 1 mile from the splendid old town of Lagos with its lovely old squares, fountains and pedestrian streets full of restaurants, cafes and bars. Miradouro is very well furnished and equipped with telephone,digital english TV, CD/DVD/cassette player, personal safe and a small library of books. the nearest beach is 1.5km and Boa Vista golf is approx 3km. For those travelling with baby, we provide cot/playpen, high chair, steriliser, bottle warmer and baby monitor to lighten your load!
Miradouro has a distinct Potuguese flavour as we have furnished and decorated with the work of local artists and craftsmen, whilst still providing all 'mod cons'
The villa had an entrance hall with telephone leading to Master bedroom with twin beds, ensuite marble bathroom and sliding patio doors onto the pool terrace. Bedroom 2 with twin beds and patio doors onto pool terrace sharing a 2nd bathroom with bedroom 3 with twin beds. All bedrooms have large fitted wardrobes and are furnished with hand painted furniture from the Alentejo region. All bed linen and towels are provided- beach towels are all you need to take. A passage from the hallway leads to the extension with laundry room, kitchenette (for poolside drinks and barbecue crockery) with a doorway to barbecue terrace, with built in barbecue and outdoor eating area adjoining the pool terrace.
There is also a winter sitting room, which is closed in the summer and never let separately. For larger parties this room can sleep an additional 2 people at a supplement of 20% of the appropriate rental. It is a very large roomwith ensuite bathroom and super view to the Monchique hills.
Marble stairs lead from the hallway to the first floor which has a large living room with 2 double sets of patio doors onto a large terrace with outdoor eating area and fantastic views across the bay of Lagos to Alvor and Ferragudo and down below, the Marina of Lagos. Inside there is a sitting area and dining area, furnished for 8 people. The main kitchen has an open archway into the living room and is fully equipped with all modern appliances. There is a lovely view over the pretty village of Portelas at the back. There is also a guest cloakroom.
Outside is a walled front garden with a kidney shaped swimming pool (5x10 meters)surrounded by a large terrace with sunbeds. The pool is heated by heat exchange pump throughout the summer season except for July and August when the temperature is ideal anyway. There is a lawned area and a pergola to the front of the villa with climbing shrubs providing a cool shady area. To the rear of the house is a large driveway with parking area and a Citrus orchard providing lots of lemons for your G &T's!
The villa is set in a third of an acre in an area known as Falfeira where there are about a dozen independent villas.It is one of the nearest residential areas to the town of Lagos.
TOURIST lICENCE. it is now the law that all rented properties must have a tourist licence, and all health and safety requirements must be installed. Some may seem a little silly such as the sign proclaiming 'a lifeguard is not on duty'- profoundly disappointing those hoping for a Bay Watch babe! Nonetheless it is most important that the licence be obtained otherwise the property can be closed down, guests or not. Our villa has been inspected by the local council and awarded its tourist licence AL (alojamento local)

The open fire is available in the winter months only. Miradouro has its own maid, Antonia,who will clean the villa, make beds, do the laundry,and deal with all the household chores. Antonia will also babysit at additional c charge. She will also put through a wash load for you and peg it out! There is an extra charge for ironing. The kitchen equipment includes electric kettle, coffee maker, juicer and toaster. Barbecue tools and unbreakable glasses and crockery are provided in the downstairs kitchenette for use by the pool. Cool air fans are provided for the bedrooms should the weather be humid. In the winter months electric blankets, fan heaters and a towel warmer are provided.

There are 5 golf courses within easy reach. In and around Lagos are facilities for surfing, sailing, windsurfing, waterskiing, scuba diving, deep sea fishing, boat trips, dolphin watching,tennis, squash, riding and for the really adventurous, microlight flying! There is a water slide park at Lagoa and Zoomarine at Guia, both
about 20 minute drive.
The new motor racing track near Portimao is within easy reach being one one junction down the motorway, but thankfully out of earshot! It hosts many motoring events and has been approved by FIA for formula one events. It is already used by Mclaren and Ferrari as a test track.
The beaches of Lagos are very varied from the 5 km stretch of the famous Meia Praia, to the most photographed beach on the Algarve Praia Dona Ana. The unspoilt West coast beaches are within easy reach, the secret cove of Ingrina; the vaste expanse of Castelejo and the surfing beach of Amado, to name but a few.

SUMMER LETS.(Easter - October) Rentals shown are for the main villa which sleeps up to 6 people in 3 bedrooms. For larger parties an extra bedroom which sleeps 2 is an optional extra at 20% of the appropriate rental. Pool heating is included except for July and August when the temperature is ideal anyway. WINTER LETS. (November-March)The rental shown is for long lets of 6 weeks or more. For 3-5 weeks the rental is £375pw. and for 1-2 weeks the rental is £435pw. All winter lets include the use of the winter sitting room with a slow burning log fire. DEPOSIT required is £100pw.the balance due 8 weeks before departure. SECURITY DEPOSIT of £100 taken on arrival for keys, damages etc. which is refundable .
