1 Bedroom Cottage in Alvor

If you want to get away from it all this is a real "chill out", the cottage is simple but VERY peaceful & quiet. 
 
You will be visited by Bella (Labrador) and Shelley (Portuguese Water Dog) for a chat. They are both rescue dogs and are very benign. 
 
Orange Tree Cottage is situated in the two acre garden of a villa located three miles inland from the fishing port of ALVOR. 
 
The cottage has a double bedroom with air-conditioning/ heating leading into a small sitting room with a terrace. The view is across the orange trees to the Monchique range of mountains ten miles away. There is satellite TV. The breakfast room is small but adequate with fridge/freezer and usual kitchen appliances - including microwave oven & hot plate but no cooker.  
 
The shower room adjoins the kitchen/breakfast room. 
A car is essential, although there is a local bus into Portimao (four runs a day) . The property is 3 kilometres from nearest supermarket etc. 
 
There are good and varied restaurants within 5 minutes drive in the surrounding countryside.  
Alvor, ten minutes drive, is a picturesque fishing village with many bars and restaurants as well as a wonderful beach and extensive board walk, ideal for walking or jogging. 
 
Lagos, with more history, is 20 minutes drive away. 
 
Silves the old Moorish Capital of the provence is 20 minutes drive away, very interesting and great jazz outside the bistro beside the castle. 
 
Penina golf (3 courses) and Morgado (two courses) are very near by.  
 
The villa hasbeautiful gardens, flower beds, shrubs, lawns and citrus orchard. 
Heated oval shape pool shared with the owners is 6 metres by 4. Pool use to be coordinated with owners on arrival. 
 
Pool available 2pm - 5pm. Monday through Saturday.  
 
In July/ August if family are staying with us more coordination will be needed.

• Travel Info: Faro Airport 50 minutes drive away. Car hire essential.But there is a local bus, 4 trips a day into Portimao which is the hub. Trains from Tunes (30 minutes away) to Lisbon. Day Trip quite feesible giving 8 hours in Lisbon. Seville 3 hours drive.
