Location:
Alvor is renowned for being a beautiful old fishing village in the Algarve in Portugal with its long quiet sandy beaches that stretch on for miles. This Portuguese village has many bars, restaurants and shops that can be found nestled within its narrow streets where fresh sardines are grilled open air making a mouth watering place to enjoy lunch. A five minute drive away Portimao caters for a real mixture of needs, it boasts a popular marina with luxury yachts and up market restaurants. Its town has several large supermarkets and a shopping / cinema complex. Its facilities include large swimming pool, children's pool, indoor heated pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, gym, beauty salon, floodlit tennis courts, children's play area, kids club, clubroom, beach sun bed area. Residents at the villa have the full use of all Alto Golf and Country Club facilities. You can relax around Alto's outdoor pool, with a cocktail from The Rum Shack, Alto's very own Caribbean Rum Shack themed poolside bar, work out in the gymnasium, have a quiet game of tennis, swim lengths in the indoor pool or simply wander around the beautiful gardens. Residents automatically become members of the exclusive Alto Golf and Country Club and have the full use of all its facilities. The villa is placed within a stones throw distance of Alto's Golfing fairways. This exclusive 18 hole - par 72 golf course was designed by Sir Henry Cotton and boasts one of the longest par 5's in Europe. The Alto Club House is positioned looking out over the 18th green and includes a Pro shop, excellent changing facilities, restaurant and bar, there is an excellent golf academy with tuition available from the resident PGA professional. Residents receive 30% discounted green fees (can be subject to change, please check)
Security:
Alto Golf and Country Club has 24 hr security which patrols the resort at night. The villa has retractable security window shutters throughout and a security alarm. Safety deposit box can be rented at reception. Portugal is one of the lowest crime rate countries in Europe.
