Obidos - within easy reach of Praia-D'El-Rey is the medieval walled town of Obidos, a jewel of the Portuguese National heritage. It is easy to spend a whole day here soaking up the atmosphere with lots of small shops selling local pottery and bric-a-brac. Obidos has lots of festivals throughout the year which are very colourful, traditional and show the town's historic connection with the Moors.
