The villa is semi detached and on one level accessed by 15 steps (down) from the private parking area for the villa: there is a large roof terrace on the same level as the access from the parking with a BBQ, sun loungers, sun shade and with superb uninterrupted views across the marshes and out to sea. There is no private garden but you have access to all the 24 acres of grounds - tennis court, two swimming pools, horse riding, boules, mini golf - there is an 18 hole golf course close by to which you have reduced rate membership. A short walk away, and partially overlooked from the roof terrace, is one of the best birdwatching sites (Salgados Lagoon) on the Algarve Coast. The Quinta da Saudade consists of 25 properties only - all developed and built in the 1960s when the original (orange) farm was bought by a small consortium of British families: the stables and old farm buildings now comprise a bar, the office for the site and an excellent restaurant. All the villas are built on a west facing hillside completely unoverlooked by any other properties.
