Vacation Rental Description
Casa De Alegria is a spacious 3 bedroom, 4 bathroom villa suitable for upto 7 adults. Overall the villa has a Zen like feel the décor is harmonious and relaxing. It has been beautifully decorated with modern, designer furniture and fabrics. In the garden and poolside there are sunloungers, dining tables & chairs a good size built in bbq for long summer evenings relaxing and eating on the terrace by the pool.
The combined lounge / dining room has large comfortable leather sofas perfect for flopping into and watching some TV or dvd. Maybe challenge your friends to a game of Monopoly or Poker ? On the upstairs landing there is small but perfectly formed office space with internet connection and laptop.
All three bedrooms have their own ensuite bathrooms and the upstairs bedrooms enjoy a terrace with views over the development towards the nature reserve. The upstairs triple bedroom has a tv & playstation 3 games console. The master bedroom has a king size bed, ample wardrobes, direct access to the terrace with out door sofas – relax, read a book and watch the sunset.
The development of Varandas do Lago is set in the heart of the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve, neighbouring Club do Ancão and Vale do Garrão. Surrounded by beautiful pine forests, the development is within easy reach of the famous golf courses of Quinta do Lago and Vale do Lobo, close to miles and miles of golden beaches.
The local area has a huge variety of activities to interest the whole family. Options include horse riding, fishing, yachting/sailing, champagne cruises, shark and dolphin watching, 4x4 safari tours and cultural visits.
In Almancil there is a karting track if you need to burn off that adrenalin. There is also an Aqua Park (10 mins drive on the other side of Quarteria) and a Swim With Dolphins experience and Theme Park (30 mins drive on the motorway).
Things to Do in the area:
There are plenty of opportunities to play tennis in Vale Do Lobo in the Tennis Valley (14 flood lit courts). There are professionals on hand to help you improve any aspect of your game, regular lessons can be arranged (fee payable). There is good bird watching options in the Ria Formosa with covered areas for watchers (or are you twitchers?) This is about 10 minutes drive away. The inlets and lagoons of the Ria Formosa are well worth a day trip on a boat. The sand dunes from Vale do Lobo back towards Faro are fabulous for wildlife spotting. From Vale do Lobo you could (if you felt energetic) actually walk for over 20 miles of beach there are some fabulous cliff walks past Vilamoura.

Faro town is a 15 minute drive there is a large shopping centre the Forum that offers good facilties for supermarket and retail shopping. Faro Old Town has an interesting history and several historic landmarks worth investigating. There is a lovely harbour with restaurants dotted about. In Almancil (5 min drive) is a beautiful church with wonderful mosiacs that is open to the public. Quarteria & Loule both boast excellent markets that sells both fresh produce and local made prodcuts.
From Varandas Do Lago about 3/4 mile down the main road towards Vale Do Lobo are another good selection of restaurants including the Sao Gabriel - a Michelin star restaurant and the Thai Garden restaurant also highly recommended. I also recommend the several 'beach shack' restaurants collectively known as 'Julias' it is a 3 minute drive from the villa located on the Ancao beach where celebrity spotting is a favourite pastime.
Facilities
The ‘Q Shopping Centre’ is a 3 minute drive back to the main entrance of Quinta Do Lago. There there are many exclusive designers shops and some lovely restaurants/cafes, also banks, multibanco machine, pharmacy, newsagent and supermarket. There is also a Italian restaurant called Pizza Pasta Fantasia - that delivers pizza and pasta (and a bottle of wine) to the apartment for those nights that you just can't be bothered to cook.

Varandas do Lago is a development of prestige villas located between Vale Do Lobo and Quinta Do Lago. The villa borders the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve and leads onto Ancao Beach - a great beach for restaurants and watersports.Within the local area there is an enormous array of quality restaurants & portuguese cafes - something for every budget.

- Nearest Train Station : Almancil at 4 kilometers distance
- Nearest Town : Almancil at 3 kilometers distance
- Travel Info: Lovely spacious villa in quiet location - but very close to all the facilities of the Almancil, Vale Do Lobo and Quinta Do Lago. We provide comprehensive information for you to plan your holiday before you arrive. We can organise private airport transfers and also car hire - nothing is too much hassle. We recommend flying into Faro - alternatively arrive by car from the A22.

From December to March you can rent by the number of bedrooms you want - priced from €550 / €750 / €1000 for 1, 2 bedrooms or whole villa. If you rent only 1 or 2 bedrooms the remaining bedrooms will be locked. You are still renting the entire villa but not all the bedrooms/bathrooms. You will have access to all the other rooms in the villa. We require a deposit of 50% (25% for summer bookings)balance of payment is 8 weeks before arrival. Refundable security deposit of €300 before arrival. Cancellation refunds: Up to 8 weeks - loss of deposit 4-8 weeks - 50% of rate refunded 2-4 weeks - 25% of rate refunded Less than 2 weeks - no refund

We searched tripadvisor for the best restaurant according to the reviews and this came up well on top, we went there twice we were so impressed, the food and service are outstanding.
Your spa recommendation was so right, I had a maternity massage in the Royal Spa and it was super along with the facilities there etc.
