Duas Quintas is a traditional farmhouse, renovated to a very high standard so that you can enjoy both traditional features and modern comforts. The house is surrounded by 15 acres of citrus orchards and is located in a wonderful green and refreshing orange growing valley, just 6 kilometers outside the medieval town of Silves.The guesthouse is family run, the owners live on site and are available to share their local knowledge with you so that you can discover the very best of rural Algarve.
All rooms have their own private entrance, with patio area and seating outside. There are high wooden ceilings, original stone walls, full length shutters and double glazing. Each of the large double bedrooms has been individually decorated, with double or twin beds, and easy chairs or sofas for extra comfort. Most rooms are big enough to allow an additional bed, if required. The en suite bathrooms are fully tiled. All have large showers and abundant hot water. There are tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryers and satellite TV. All communal areas and most bedrooms have wifi access. All bedrooms are non smoking.
One double bedroom has been prepared with guests with limited mobility in mind -contact the owners for more details.

Families with young children are welcome and travel cots are avilable if required.

The studio is ideal for families or guests who are staying for longer periods. The studio has a fully fitted kitchen, with washing machine, a double bed and a sofa bed. Contact the owners for more information.

At Duas Quintas we believe that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Where possible local, fresh produce is used. Start your meal with a choice of cereals, porridge, yogurt or fresh fruit. Every day Mary prepares a simple but different cooked dish. Complete your meal with fresh bread, homemade preserves, local cheeses and homemade scones or cake. Fresh orange juice awaits you every morning.

Here, in 15 acres of private grounds, guests can relax by the pool or explore their surroundings. Once a thriving fruit farm, Duas Quintas has over 1500 orange trees as well as plum, lemon, olive and fig trees. It is a bird lover’s paradise with storks, hoopoes, swallows and buzzards. Wild flowers abound in the springtime. Close to the house, the gardens have been developed, with areas for sitting and relaxing. Outside, there is a guest bar b que, with plates, cutlery etc -all you need to cook your own lunch or evening meal. We will even order the meat or fish for you in our local shops! A guest fridge and honesty bar means that you have access to cold drinks all day long. We encourage you to spend the day with us, enjoying the garden, using the table tennis or boules court or choosing a book from our small library.

One of the main features of the grounds is the 12m x 6m illuminated pool. The size and shape of it gives you the option of having a real swim or simply cooling down and relaxing. You can sunbathe on the terrace or amongst the orange trees with a much appreciated breeze usually blowing through the summer afternoons. Take a book from our guest library and stay with us for the day. Or why not swim in the illuminated pool at night, relaxing under the starry algarve sky?

Duass Quintas is situated in an excellent area for walking and cycling. We will happily advise you about good local walks and have a number of walking books available. Two large waterparks within a fifteen minute drive from Duas Quintas.
Zoomarine, an ocean theme park, which is both fun and educational, is popular with adults and children. It is just a twenty minute drive away.
Many excellent restaurants serving traditional food.
Throughout the year there are a number of local festivals and festas. The Silves medieval fair in August is a week long event when the whole town returns to medieval days - an authentic step back in history.
The nearest beaches are about 15 minutes drive away. They are wonderful small rocky coves, a delight for swimming and sun bathing. Long sandy beaches are about twenty minutes drive way- great for relaxing in the sand dunes or taking a long, sea side walk. We know all the local beaches well and will be able to guide you to the ones that best suit your needs.Most beaches have cafes and restaurants where tasty fresh fish and meat is grilled.

In order to confirm your booking, you need to send us a 20% deposit. The deposit can be sent by cheque or by bank transfer. The remainder can be paid anytime up to four weeks before your arrival date. Our cancellation policy is as follows: Up to 4 weeks before your stay with us -no cancellation charge (less deposit). 2 - 4 weeks before your stay with us - 50%of rate refunded (less deposit). Less than 2 weeks before your stay with us -no refund. Please note that deposits are unrefundable for bookings in July and August. Discount for groups and longer stays. We also have one economy room - €40, €55 and €75 according to season.
