Vacation Rental Description
The apartment is well located in the heart of this former fishing village with its fine choice of bars and restaurants spread out along the longest sandy beach on the Algarve. Albufeira, the Zoo marine park, the Algarve shopping mall, various water parks, the new motor circuit and numerous golf courses are all within a short driving distance. Faro Airport is approx 45 minutes drive from the apartment and transfers can be arranged. A car is not essential as most of the bars, shops, restaurants and the beach are all within easy walking distance and shuttle services can be booked to many of the local attractions, however, if you are more adventurous and want to explore the area, you may find a car more convenient.The apartment is comfortably furnished, air conditioned and offers satelite TV. It consists of a double bedroom with King size bed. The second bedroom has twin beds with a pull out guest bed underneath (ideal for families with 3 children who would like to sleep in the same room). Large fully tiled bathroom with full size bath and shower over. A spacious open plan living room with fully equipped kitchen at one end complete with dishwasher, fridge freezer, washing machine etc; A dining area to seat 6 people and a relaxing lounge area with 2 seater sofa and 3 seater sofabed. In addition to the satellite TV, there is also a DVD/VHS video player. The lounge area leads out through patio doors to a balcony overlooking the 2 condominium pools - perfect for that relaxing glass of wine at the end of the day. The pools are accessed by a locked gate only and keys are provided for all guests. There is secure underfloor parking with lifts to all floors and easy access for buggies or wheelchairs. There are also 4 small supermarkets within a few minutes walk for those who prefer to self cater.
Armacao de Pera was once a quaint fishing village but due to its fabulous beach and excellent location it has now grown into a popular resort for the discerning visitor. The eastern side of the town is mostly new apartment blocks but the western side, the old town, still has all its charm with its maze of cobbled streets dotted with dozes of small bars and restaurants. At the western end of the beach, the fishermen still pull their boats up onto the sand each day and unload their catch. In 2009 the seafront had a 10 million euro facelift and was turned into a pedestrianised area with many interesting features.
No internet access in the apartment but there is an Internet cafe and wireless internet access a few minutes walk away.

3 large waterparks within a short driving distance or shuttle service can be booked.
Coastal boat rides to explore the caves along the coast
New motor racing circuit with various events or you can be driven around the track for that racing experience.
International Go Karting circuit.
Zoo Marine - swim with dolphins, watch the animals perform or cool off on some of the rides.

Lovely quiet location away from the crowds and road noise but only a few minutes walk to the shops, bars, restaurants and our beautiful golden beach.For anyone who knows Armacao de Pera, we are one block back from the waterfall roundabout opposite the water tower.
Travel Options
- Nearest Airport : Faro at 0 kilometers distance;
- Travel Info: Faro airport is approx 45 minutes by car. Taxi's or shuttle bus services can be arranged through www.resorthopper.com The shuttle bus is the cheapest at approx 15 euros per person return but it meanders through various resorts and can take a long time to reach Armacao de Pera. Taxi's are around 100 euros return depending on size of taxi required, or our agent in Portugal will collect and return up to 5 people for 80 euros.

A deposit of 25% is required to secure the booking and the balance to be paid at least 6 weeks before holiday commencement. Any booking cancelled 28 days or more before holiday due to commence will receive deposit back in full. Payments may be made by personal cheque, bank transfer or by credit card through Paypal. Details provided as required. A security deposit of £200 will be required for the duration of the holiday to cover possible damage or breakages and this will be returned within 7 days of your return if the apartment is left in good condition.

We all had a wonderful holiday and thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Portugal. The apartment had everything we needed with plenty of room for the 5 of us. The kids make good use of the pool and it was nice to be able to sit on the balcony and watch them. I'm quite sure we'll be in touch again in the future to book another holiday at Alto dos Navegantes.

Just returned to England after spending a wonderful 10 days in your lovely apartment. The location of the apartment was ideal and Armacao de Pera was so central to everything. We found some lovely places to eat, The Clipper being our favourite and we celebrated my wife's brithday there with a personalised cake and all !

Adrian and Carol are the parents of 2 teenage daughters and 1 son in his 20s. We have 4 grandchildren.
We have travelled a lot over the years and have to rate Armacao de Pera as one of our favourite locations - a real find.
We don't spend as much time as we had hoped in our holiday home due to work and family commitments and have decided to rent the apartment out (to help with the bills!) but hope to spend more time there in the future.
