2 Bedroom Villa in Ourique

At Vale da Cegonha we aim to provide the best of all worlds for everyone. Our holiday villas are set within 20 acres (7 hectares) of gloriously unspoilt countryside in the picturesque Alentejo region of Portugal, offering the perfect rural retreat.

Built to reflect the style of a traditional country property, both of our villas (Casa Aguia and Casa Coruja) offer fully wheelchair-accessible luxury holiday accommodation, with full modern facilities that are furnished and finished to the highest standards throughout.

Casa Aguia and Casa Coruja each have 2 luxurious en suite bedrooms as well as extremely spacious living accommodation. Casa Aguia has a separate lounge and a large kitchen/diner, whilst Casa Coruja features an open plan lounge/kitchen/diner.

All areas surrounding our villas, including the surrounding terraces, landscaped grounds and the private swimming pool, are fully wheelchair accessible.

Outside both villa properties there are shady terraces for alfresco dining and lawned areas. The large 10x5 metre heated saltwater swimming pool, which is shared, has beside it a shady pergola and sun terraces with loungers.


CASA AGUIA:

As a self contained house Casa Aguia provides has 2 en suite bedrooms and is designed to accommodate 4 guests. However, a further small child’s bed or cot may be added to either bedroom if required.

Bedroom 1 is double bedded and has a full en suite bathroom with a bath and shower combination, washbasin, WC and bidet.

Bedroom 2 has a zip and link bed which may be made up as either 1 large double bed or 2 singles. The en suite is exceptionally spacious and includes a stylish ‘wet room’ style shower, WC and washbasin. This bedroom and shower room is fully wheelchair accessible.

The villa also has a separate lounge providing comfortable seating for up to 5 guests, plus a spacious kitchen-diner.


CASA CORUJA:

Casa Coruja has 2 en suite bedrooms, plus a Futon sofa bed in the lounge area.

The villa will accommodate up to 6 adults, but guests should be aware that those using the sofa bed will need access to a bathroom within one of the bedrooms. A small child’s bed or cot may be added to either bedroom, if required.

Bedroom 1 has a zip and link bed which may be made up as either 1 large double bed or 2 singles. Bedroom 2 is twin bedded. Both bedrooms have large stylish ‘wet room’ style shower rooms.

The villa also has a spacious open plan lounge/kitchen/diner which provides both comfortable seating for 6, as well as a dining table and 6 chairs, if required.


What is Included:

¦ All linen, towels and tea towels, including a midweek towel change for weekly bookings. A full midweek linen change is available at a small extra charge.
¦ Swimming towels for use at Vale da Cegonha - beach towels may be hired at 2 euros per day. These also carry a 10 euro refundable deposit (per towel).
¦ Electricity, Gas and Winter Heating.
¦ A Welcome Grocery Pack for weekly visitors, which includes tea, coffee, sugar, milk, bread, butter, fresh farm eggs, local cheese and wine, fresh fruit, fruit juice and salt and pepper.
¦ We also provide toilet rolls, 2 kitchen rolls, cling film, aluminium foil, bin liners washing up liquid, sponge and dishcloth.

The villas are also very well equipped with domestic appliances. Within each lounge you will find a TV, CD and DVD player, along with a library of DVDs, CDs, books and games, as well as a sketch pad and pencils for those who are artistically inclined. The kitchen areas are equipped with an oven, hob, fridge, microwave, toaster, blender and kettle - plus crockery, cutlery and glassware and all cooking utensils etc. For your safety there are also fire blankets and extinguishers installed, as well as a basic first aid box, should you need it. Adjacent to the kitchens you will find dining areas that each feature a dining table and chairs. For your added comfort, both villas have heating for the winter months and air conditioned bedrooms for the summer.

Many age old cartways criss-cross the landscape. You can explore on foot or by bicycle. Alternatively we can arrange for you to travel on horseback, quad bike or jeep. Whichever you chose, you are guaranteed a day of discovery and adventure.

If you really feel like splashing out, you can view the area from the air in a hot air balloon or light aircraft.

On site:

We have a boules pitch and set of boules for guests to use.
We can also arrange for groups to try their hand at archery.
