Vacation Rental Description
Zakopane is Poland's premier mountain resort. Good facilities and the immediately accessible slopes of the Tatra Mountains make skiing the big winter-time attraction for tourists from all over Europe. Downhill runs descend from a 6,514-foot-high peak called Kasprowy Wierch, reached by a gondola and two chairlifts. Antalowka, a small hill on Zakopane's western outskirts, is used as a beginners slope, and cross-country trails fringe the forested foothills. Mostof the skiing facilities have been upgraded in recent years and bost state of the art facilities. A number of the slopes regularly hold European championships.
A large proportion of tourists visit the resort outside the winter season. Hiking is an immensely popular activity. Dozens of well marked trails extend through meadows and canyons shaded by spruce, pine, oak and larch trees. Hikers can make their way past alpine lakes up to the highest Tatra summit. The villa is situated in the Koscielisko district in a tranquil and spectacular valley. The town centre is 10 minutes away and the slopes only 5 minutes. Krakow is less than 2 hours away.
